Thank goodness that the Real Housewives of Potomac are back, as these women would wilt any cherry blossom tree with the amount of real-life drama they bring to the table. However, the season premiere cast a dark shadow on the marriage of Juan Dixon and Robyn Dixon. The two have had a not-so-fairy-tale romance that led to marriage, ended in divorce, and then had the couple do it all over again. So what in the sweet tea is going on?
Juan Has a History
For the last few years of Robyn and Juan’s first marriage, the basketball star had been having an affair. Back in 2009, Juan started to have an intimate relationship with Cris Sanchez, a woman who he described as the “love of my life,” per The Diamond Back.
Juan once said on the Real Housewives of Potomac, “I think Robyn eventually put a wall up and then just didn’t give what I felt like I needed from marriage, so; therefore, I got it elsewhere.”
Was Juan Dating a Karen Huger Doppelganger?
During Season 7, Ashley Darby and Karen Huger had a cozy sit-down lunch where the Grand Dame decided to reevaluate that she had heard that Juan was secretly dating another woman who evidently was the spitting image of Karen. Naturally, Bravo production had a field day with their character drawing. Sadly, in January 2023, Robyn had to admit that the former Washington Wizards player had cheated on her again.
During her Reasonably Shady podcast that she hosts with Gizelle Bryant, Robyn explained the situation. “What I will say is, yes, Juan was an idiot and communicated with this woman on Instagram,” she commented. “Because he’s bored, he needs attention, it’s a pandemic, blah, blah, blah, whatever.” Robyn doubled down, sharing she was aware of the situation before Season 7 started filming, ending her explanation by saying, “They did not date. He did not fly her anywhere, and there is a reason why his name is on a hotel receipt,” which turned out to be because the woman lost her wallet—no joke.
Who’s Coach Bre?
During the RHOP season premiere, Robyn and Juan tried their best to have an adult conversation about the rumors. However, the coach found himself in trouble again when he not only called coach Breanna Gross “a beautiful woman” but was snapped at a laundromat with her too.
Fans took to Twitter to share the evidence with one posting, “A girl in one of my other groups caught Juan at the laundry mat with another lady last night. Apparently, they were hugging up on each other, and he was behind her with his arms around her when loading the machines with their personal belonging.”
This marked the second time Juan had been accused of having an affair. Coach Bre worked as the Director of Basketball Operations for Coppin State University, Juan’s former employer. During the conversation, the couple discussed how Juan was also spotted with Coach Bre at a nail salon in Ellicott City, Maryland. Juan played off the interaction, claiming, “She’s a beautiful woman. You see an attractive dude with an attractive girl, so of course, their imagination is going to run wild.”
The Women of the RHOP Are Skeptical
Gizelle, Ashley, and Charisse Jackson Jordan tried their best during the premiere to pull Robyn out of her delusional landslide. The moment in Gizelle’s backyard was quite moving and showed how much these women cared for one another. Each wife re-shared their story of infidelity, expressing their desire for Robyn to be true to herself. Each woman opened up about how they had once been in denial, too, when it came to their cheating husband.
However, Robyn didn’t take the pow-wow in the spirit that it was meant and became defensive of her relationship. Viewers could see that each of Robyn’s friends meant well. But the mother of two is currently in the thick of it, and can’t see anything with blinders on.
The women are going to do their best to be supportive of whatever Robyn chooses, but they just wanted to point out there are multiple red flags with Juan’s behavior.
