Patricia is an extremely relevant figure in the art community. She has appeared on Bravo’s reality series Southern Charm since its conception in 2014. Her son, Whitney Sudler-Smith, is credited for the creation of the show.
As a former Manhattan socialite, and now recognizable to everybody on the Charleston scene, she has had many an opportunity to line her pockets. She is undoubtedly the richest member of the Southern Charm cast. The majority of her money supposedly comes from her late husband, Goldman Sachs partner Arthur Altschul. According to Bustle, he was a billionaire.
Celebrity Net Worth says that Patricia worked as an instructor at George Washington University. This came after earning two bachelor’s degrees in 1964 and 1965, for archaeology and art history respectively. She would go on to own a private art dealership in Georgetown, called Arcadia.
Her first husband was L. Hayes Smith, who’s the father of her son Whitney. They divorced in 1979, and she would marry doctor Edward Stitt Fleming in 1989, before again getting divorced in 1995. Her third husband, Arthur, died in 2002. aged 81. He suffered from a number of health problems during the last few years of his life. Patricia said she was “inconsolable” for some time after his death.
