At this point, it would seem there’s nothing to repair Kody Brown’s relationship with his wives. But the Sister Wives star is willing to try anything at this point.
Earlier this year, Kody announced his split from his first wife, Meri Brown, telling fans via Instagram that they terminated their relationship. Fans have seen Meri uncompromising in her desire to end things.
Kody, on the other hand, wants to make anything work. Even if it’s not real.
Sister Wives’ Kody says he will ‘put up’ with Meri
Us Weekly obtained an exclusive preview of the upcoming episode of Sister Wives. The sneak preview saw Kody explaining, “I’m willing to fake being in love with Meri. Doing my duties as a husband. Sort of putting up with things that frustrate me so deeply that I struggle to be around her. If I need to for the sake of, whatever, I don’t know. I can fake through this.”
While everyone makes concessions in marriage, that is not what this is. Kody continued, “I don’t want to. But if you’re going to insist, then I will. She’s like, ‘I don’t want that.’” Who would want that? As Meri explained in her confessional, “I wouldn’t want him to do that. I’ve wanted to heal our relationship and even create a new relationship, but I’ve never insisted on it.”
She further expressed, “Why is he saying he’s willing to keep acting when he clearly hasn’t been for eight or 10 years?” The trailer also featured a heart-to-heart between Kody, Meri, and Robyn Brown. Kody divorced Meri in 2014 to marry Robyn, but both remained spiritually married to Kody.
Robyn appeared to be in denial about the end of Meri and Kody. He told Robyn, “This is the agreement you required of me in order to get married. This agreement that I gave you, our sacred covenant, was if I’m ever not in love with you, I won’t just sit there and be in a pathetic place with you.”
Sister Wives continues Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
