The Real Housewives bring the drama each week on Bravo. When it comes to stirring the pot and calling each other out, these ladies are pros. They also excel in bringing up random gossip that “they’ve heard from others.” After doing so, most of these women will then play the “but I didn’t say it, I just shared it,” card, in an effort to dodge responsibility when sharing their tea.
A few times though, these accusations went too far, as the hearsay that was shared reached dangerous, life-altering levels. Callous claims do not equate to great storylines. Instead, they really just make the sharer look like an asshat. Out of these instances, here are the most vicious, unsubstantiated Real Housewives rumors that have been slung…so far.
Vicki Rumor About Shannon’s Abuse
Shannon Beador‘s marriage to David Beador came to a crashing halt on Real Housewives of Orange County. The couple tried to mend their relationship over the course of several seasons, but all of their attempts failed. Their separation was officially announced during the Season 12 reunion. In Season 11, however, Vicki Gunvalson lodged a horrific claim against David, which made even Shannon see red.
First, Vicki threatened to expose “secrets” about Shannon‘s relationship with David, unless of course Shannon backed down from her constant calling out of Vicki’s behaviors. When Shannon continued to press into Vicki, Vicki snapped. In turn, Vicki alleged that David had physically abused Shannon in their past. Shannon immediately denied Vicki’s accusations.
Kelly Dodd then repeated this rumor during a tense van ride, while defending herself against a barrage of attacks from Shannon, Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow. “You know what Vicki said about you? That your husband beat the sh*t out of you. And it’s all out there now—how ’bout that?” Kelly argued, while Vicki, the root of this rumor, remained silent.
In a confessional, a hurt Shannon expressed, “You don’t accuse people of beating the sh*t out of others, because that has never happened.” As this bit of gossip could have placed David behind bars, we find Vicki’s rumor on Real Housewives to be the very definition of vicious.
Vicki’s Rumor About Tamra’s Husband
Tamra married Eddie Judge in 2013, but just a few years later, her bestie Vicki spoke out of turn, implying that Eddie was gay. To recap, off-air, Tamra learned that Vicki was speaking ill of Eddie, saying that he had made out with a man. On-air, Tamra confronted Vicki, which then saw Vicki attempting to dodge the blame, again. Basically, Vicki said that it was Tamra’s fault that this rumor had blown up, as Tamra was the one who brought it up to the cameras, not her.
Following this mess, Vicki claimed that she didn’t believe Tamra’s husband was gay. But then Vicki kinda backtracked, adding that if he was gay, he should just come out of the closet. At the end, this rumor quickly spread throughout the RHOC cast, resulting in Tamra posting about “homophobic bullies,” as she felt that Vicki had staged gossip against Eddie within her cast.
Someone’s sexuality is not a storyline, unless they want it to be, so this rumor was vicious for Vicki to support, and then not fully shut down once unearthed.
Brandi’s Intimate Rumor Involving Denise
Brandi Glanville shared a rumor involving an alleged intimate rendezvous with her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Denise Richards, during Season 10. In her claim, Brandi stated that Denise was “sexually aggressive” towards her when they first met. Therefore, the two ladies began a secret affair. For the backstory, the pair first met when Brandi’s agent, who was also Denise’s agent, set up a meeting for the duo, as Denise was joining RHOBH.
“We went to dinner and Denise is sitting across from me and the whole time she is looking at my boobs,” Brandi alleged. Her claims arrived first on-air, with more specific details later given to Daily Mail. “Then, our agent left…but we stayed because we were having a great time, we were hitting it off.” Afterwards, Brandi told her costars that she and Denise had slept together.
Denise denied Brandi’s rumor. She even left the series. This rumor hurt Denise, but Brandi viciously stuck to her guns, despite the pain that it caused.
Phaedra’s and Porsha’s Rumor About Kandi
On the Real Housewives of Atlanta, a horrific rumor was quietly started by Phaedra Parks. Phaedra told Porsha Williams that Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker wanted to drug and rape her. Freaked out, Porsha brought this allegation to Kandi, who vehemently denied the rumor. Thankfully, Phaedra’s lies unraveled, and she was outted as the source of this nasty tea.
Phaedra’s rape and drugging rumor, repeated by Porsha, could have landed Kandi and Todd in jail. Overall, Phaedra is the Real Housewives star with the darkest mean streak, if you ask us.
Teresa’s Neverending Rumors Against Melissa
Over on Real Housewives of New Jersey, the rumors are the same, year after year. Here, Teresa Guidice uses her co-stars, and herself, to spread rumors about Melissa Gorga‘s alleged cheating ways, which have yet to be proven true. For her part, Melissa, consistently denies all claims made. We’re tired of these vicious rumors, and we think that it might be time for a reboot of this Real Housewives series.
