Is there trouble in the Metcalfe house?
On Married to Medicine, we saw the intense dynamic between Dr. Contessa Metcalfe and her husband Dr. Scott Metcalfe. Reality TV has that effect on a marriage, but apparently, a lot has been going on since the cameras stopped following their lives.
Radar Online reported that earlier this year, Dr. Contessa secretly filed for divorce! That went right under our noses, huh? Here’s what happened.
Divorcing in the dark
According to court documents, Contessa went to the courthouse and filed for divorce on March 20, 2023. In her filing, she claimed that her marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no reasonable hope of reconciliation.”
She said, “Although the parties presently occupy the same residence they have resided in a bona fide state of separation since on or before the filing of this Complaint for divorce.”
Contessa’s divorce filing also came with a few demands for Scott. She asked for their house. She asked for primary physical custody of all three of their kids and child support.
Of course, we all saw the Metcalfe’s messy relationship issues play out in Season 8 of M2M. She filed for legal separation, and it was a whole ordeal. However, by Season 9, they seemed like they were back on track. This quiet divorce of 2023 followed a similar pattern.
On November 8, Contessa dismissed her divorce filing. Although she originally said there was “no reasonable hope of reconciliation,” something changed between March and November.
Scott never actually responded to the divorce filing and judging by his social media activity, you’d never know he was navigating marital issues. He’s been all smiles on Instagram, posing with his wife and promoting their medical business. They’ve been going on with life as usual, but you can’t help but wonder how this would have played out if they were still on television.
Married to Medicine is currently airing its 10th season on Bravo, Sunday nights at 9/8c.
