The sneak peek of Summer House Season 8 is finally here, and let me tell you, it is everything and so much more! The Montauk gang is back for another wild ride with some of the OGs and a few new faces. The cast includes Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke, Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Paige DeSorbo, Danielle Olivera, Ciara Miller, and Gabby Prescod, and two new additions, West Wilson and Jesse Solomon. The Summer House promo shot looks like it’s straight off the set of Scooby Doo, but I am ready for all the chaos that is about to rain down on the house with an activated Lindsay on the prowl. Here are the best moments in the Summer House Season 8 trailer.
The Break Up
In the opening scene, which has what sounds like Tibetan monks singing, a grey New York City skyline peeks through the cloud coverage, and the cameras pan to Carl and Lindsay having a serious discussion. We all knew Carl had summoned Bravo cameras, but no one knew just how much of the “we need to talk chat” was caught.
Apparently, quite a bit of it. The conversation started with Lindsay asking, “What do you want from me?” Carl replied, “I want you to trust me.” I mean, if there isn’t trust, what did these two have? A business deal?
It gets worse as the conversation deepens, and Carl reveals, “I’m not happy, and I don’t think you’re happy. You need that in the relationship, you need to have the power over the other person. You’re really gifted at playing the victim.” Jesus Christ, I’m going to need some popcorn, stat!
Carl Breaks the Fourth Wall
During the same scene, Lindsay storms off, probably to make her own sandwich, noting that her fiancé clearly has made his decision. Somewhere, Stephen Traversie is thanking his lucky stars he got out when he did, PowerPoint and all. Carl stands there dumbfounded, telling his producer and cameraman, “I thought she would react a little differently.”
Carl noted he was worried. “She’s going to have to spin this and then tell everybody she’s blindsided. I’ll be the bad guy, that’s fine, but she’s blind to the things that have gone on the past year.” Cut to Lindsay on her bed telling her father precisely that. The chills!
Amanda Finds Her Voice
For years, there has been something about Amanda that bothered me, but I hadn’t been able to put a finger on it. But I finally figured it out when Ciara called her bestie out for losing her identity and standing in the shadows too much. I can often see myself in Amanda—wanting to be the perfect wife but often losing myself along the way. So, I am very excited to see how Amanda navigates these murky waters with Kyle. Who, let’s face it, isn’t that great at taking constructive criticism?
Not proving us wrong is the Loverboy founder who, after his wife shares, “You don’t like it when I have a stance on something,” shouts back, “Your stance is bullsh*t.” But I do hope they can figure it all out.
Lindsay Questions Carl’s Sobriety
In what will be a famous clip from the new season, Carl is seen yelling at the top of his lungs at Lindsay, screaming, “You accused me of doing drugs!” I can only imagine this did not go down well since Carl has been sober since January 2021 after the devastating loss of his older brother due to a drug overdose. For me, I can see this being the beginning of the end for the couple. Even Carl’s parents seem to agree.
Lou, Carl’s stepfather, revealed, “I’ve been a minister all my career, and I’ve married tons of people. I wouldn’t marry you and Lindsay.” Is Lindsay the villain or the victim in this story—this is what I want to know. Like many of the Bravo women, I still believe that Lindsay is often labeled as irrational, but how much of what Carl is saying is true? We need to get to the bottom of this caper gang. Quick, grab a Scooby Snack and a Loverboy for the road!
