Who would have thought Vanderpump Rules Season 11 would get off the most boring start? Not I. The pace at which the first two episodes have moved is practically glacial, with nothing of significance occurring. Everything felt very staged between Ariana Madix‘s tears and Lala Kent‘s forced apology phone call in the premiere. Actually, this is perhaps the first time I actively felt that the show was scripted. It left me thinking, do we need Rachel Leviss to return? God help me; I think we do.
VPR Needs Closure for Scandoval
Scandoval rocked the Bravosphere in March 2023, and while we have had Bravo personalities cheat before (looking at you, Jax Taylor), it was never quite this messy. Tom Sandoval and Rachel were secretly having an affair for months behind Ariana’s back. To say the cast and viewers were upset is an understatement. The entire situation turned toxic, though the clandestine couple swore it was true love—lightning bolts and all.
However, Scandoval has yet to be tied up with a pretty pink bow. Yes, Rachel got to say her peace while on Bethenny Frankel‘s podcast. We learned the show allegedly didn’t support her, but we didn’t really learn any new information that was life-changing on the subject of screwing your best friend’s man. I want to see how it ended with her and Tom because he is now dating a new model.
The duo swore up and down that they were soulmates, but now that there has been some space, fans really deserve to learn what exactly went down, and I can only assume he wasn’t happy to have lost his little puppet.
Sandoval Shouldn’t Get Off the Hook
The worm with a mustache, aka Tom, is worming, and it doesn’t feel right that he gets to show up on Season 11 with little to no consequences. I doubt we will see anyone holding his feet to the hot coals. Now, I imagine if Rachel were present, there would be a bit more banter, arguing, and overall questioning of what the hell went down. I want Tom to answer for his gaslighting of Rachel and the fact that he asked the beauty queen to lie on his behalf.
Where is the justice without Rachel coming back to grill him? Instead, we are going to watch Tom on his apology tour as he tries to win favor amongst the WeHo group. The sad thing is we all know he will be forgiven, and Scandoval will blow over. I just wanted more from this season and less of Sandy crying in a sensory deprivation tank.
Alas, it looks like I won’t be getting the final showdown and, in fact, will be watching Tom cry his heart out to whoever will listen.
Rachel Isn’t Keeping Quiet
One thing Rachel knew was she wouldn’t be welcomed back on the set of Vanderpump Rules. On her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, the ex-reality TV star revealed that she wanted to try to get back into that world, saying, “My purpose for doing that isn’t to just be in the drama necessarily. I want to create a healthier environment for people watching reality TV. I want to be a part of creating ethical reality TV.”
Unfortunately, Rachel returning to Vanderpump Rules is probably just a pipe dream. It seems like few people are paying attention to Rachel or her podcast. This is probably because it feels as if she took the easy exit instead of confronting her issues with Tom. But I think fans may have been more receptive to hearing her side on Vanderpump Rules rather than on a podcast.
Now, I don’t believe that the cast should have a free-for-all on Rachel; let’s get that straight. But I think if Rachel were to have returned, there could have been a lot of progress made. Instead, we are still talking about how she is a home wrecker, and everyone hates her. I mean, Scheana Shay released Apples, which pretty much said it all.
If the episodes don’t start improving, I’m gonna need a camera to start following Rachel.
