if you thought your last breakup was bad, wait until you hear what happened to Below Deck star Chef Anthony Iracane. During Below Deck Season 11, Episode 4, he revealed that his last marriage ended in an unimaginable way. His wife left him for his uncle. Yes, you read that right.
Of course, we’ve heard of some strange arrangements over the years, like people marrying their step-grandpa. Weird things can happen. Running off with someone’s uncle? That’s new territory, even for us.
Worst uncle ever
Chef Anthony made the shocking admission because love was on everyone’s brains. The crew planned a romantic dinner for the guests, and that got everyone’s hearts fluttering. In Anthony’s case, talking about love brought up a whole bunch of bad memories.
“This dinner is about love. I wish I could be in love like that with somebody,” Anthony expressed. “I got married when I was 26. We had a lot of plans to create a family. It was a big deal.”
Anthony continued to explain how yachting played a part in the downfall of his marriage. Apparently, his wife was a chief stew, and his uncle was a captain. He helped her get a job, and it was all downhill from there.
“I still have no text from her. No phone call. I guess she just left me for my uncle, you know? It was kind of pretty s—tty,” Anthony recalled.
It’s hard to imagine recovering from that type of heartbreak and betrayal. Plus, you’d think Christmas and Thanksgiving would be super awkward. There’s just so much wrong with that story, and it has turned Anthony off from the idea of love. Can you blame him?
Anthony admitted, “So for the moment, I’m literally in love with my cat.”
In Anthony’s defense, there’s nothing wrong with being in love with your cat. At least you know the cat isn’t going to leave you for your uncle.
