Public opinion towards Lindsay Hubbard definitely swayed into the negative after the latest episode of Summer House. The long awaited Season 8 was expected to finally provide some answers as to why Carl Radke broke up with the former publicist.
In a shocking display, Lindsay accused her sober fiance of being under the influence. The shrill sound of “what are you on?” hit viewers in the most abrupt way possible. All the more, she spoke about him to Summer House co-star Gabby Prescod and referred to him as “cocaine Carl.”
It became a little clearer to see, even for skeptics, why Carl was hesitant to wed his Bravolebrity girlfriend. And with the Loverboy employee having celebrated three years sober in January, Carl was asked how much Lindsay’s relationship with alcohol played as a factor in their break up.
Issues between the couple were “right there in front of” them
In a show of support, Lindsay chose not to drink when she first started dating Carl. However, she resumed the habit in the Summer of 2022 while filming Season 7 of the hit reality TV show.
Carl gave an exclusive interview to People about whether Lindsay’s partying was a major factor in his decision to end the engagement.
“There’s a lot of layers to it,” the Bravolebrity told the news publiciation. “A relationship encompasses a lot more things besides just drinking.”
Summer House fans were shocked by the recent fight. And while Carl seemingly is downplaying the issue of alcohol, he is certainly not discounting it entirely.
“As someone who’s sober and is committing to a lifetime of not drinking, the person I am with and their relationship with alcohol, it does matter,” he stated.
And there are more issues to come, Carl revealed, including plans for the future.
“There were things that were always right there in front of us, that always were a constant conversation, and things we needed to work on and understand better about each other,” he explained. “There are things you’ll see that had happened before the summer started, but then happened again during the summer. Finances, career, that’s always going to be conversation, regardless of where you’re at, but those were definitely topics that came up this summer.”
