Love Is Blind’s Johnny McIntyre Jokes About Sex Talk With Amy Cortés

Love Is Blind star Johnny McIntyre reflected on the sex talk he had with his wife, Amy Cortés, while filming Season 6 of the Netflix series.

Throughout the run of the show, fans have voiced their opinions regarding Johnny and Amy’s relationship — specifically how Johnny was adamant about not having sex until Amy was on birth control. The conversations between the pair continued, and at one point, they even considered a vasectomy, but watchers never heard them mention other forms of protection, such as condoms.

“My initial thoughts on watching this was, ‘Did I really not bring up a condom once? Did that not come into the conversation at all?'” Johnny said to People. “Watching it back, I was like, ‘This couldn’t have been the whole conversation. Was it?'”

Johnny’s not sure why more of the chat didn’t air

Later, during his interview, Johnny maintained that he and Amy chatted about different types of contraception. However, according to him, it never made it to air.

“We talked about this multiple, multiple times,'” he recalled. “But regardless, it was just a very funny thing of watching it back and [having people] be like, ‘Wow, did he really pass high school health class?'”

Earlier in the season, Amy revealed the reason why she was hesitant to start birth control. “I’m anemic, it would be ideal to do that but I like how regular everything is with my system. I don’t want to alter anything and so, it is a lot as a woman to make these decisions,” she said.

Naturally, Johnny received backlash from watchers who questioned his intentions and morals. He eventually responded, adding that his statements were “spun the wrong way.”

“I do want to have kids, but I want to, number one, be able to actually experience life with Amy and grow and really evolve with her as a couple before we welcome kids into the mix,” he said. “Let’s do that, and then a couple of years later, then let’s welcome kids into it. Because that way, we have a strong foundation.”

Whatever floats your boat, Johnny Boy. The reunion will air on Netflix on Wednesday, March 13, and in the sneak peek, Johnny and Amy addressed the fan chatter. However, we’ll have to wait to see what was said.
