Savannah Chrisley has clung on to hope that her parents will be freed from prison later this year.
In case you need a refresher, the reality stars, Julie and Todd Chrisley, were sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison following guilty verdicts in their fraud case.
After the couple surrendered to their respective camps in Florida and Kentucky, Savannah, her brother Chase Chrisley, and their family’s lawyers have continued working hard to overturn the conviction by speaking out about their parents’ time behind bars and fighting for an appeal. In a new interview, Savannah shared more about the next steps and what that could mean for her family and her future.
Savannah thinks her family could be reunited with Todd and Julie later this year
The Chrisley’s family lawyer, Jay Surgent, shared that Todd and Julie’s appeal hearing would occur in 2024. According to Savannah, she’s ready and “looking forward” to it. “Obviously, I hope to have them home, maybe later in the summer.”
Savannah has also spoken openly about the pressures of raising her 17-year-old brother, Grayson Chrisley, and her 11-year-old sister, Chloe. “Raising a [17] and 11-year-old is a full-time job, but also working and trying to provide a life for them as well as fighting day in and day out with lawyers to get my parents home.”
Since being locked away, Savannah has been the face of the Chrisley family. She’s continued to advocate for her mother and father by speaking out about their living conditions behind bars. She’s also called out the alleged mistreatment they receive at the hands of prison staff members. Due to her unwillingness to waver, many have wondered if she sees law school in her future.
“I would if my mom comes home,” she revealed. “I have told Grayson that I would do it. So if Mom comes home then obviously it’ll be she and Chloe or if Mom and Dad both come home then I would most certainly go back to school and try to become a lawyer. It’s never too late to follow your dreams. If I could be a lawyer by the time I’m 30 or 32, I might just do it.”
