Believe it or not, watching your relationship implode on national television isn’t fun. That’s the unfortunate reality for Carl Radke, who has been watching his engagement with Lindsay Hubbard fall apart on Season 8 of Summer House. It’s like watching a train derail in slow motion, and it’s giving Carl the ick.
He recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live to dish with Andy Cohen about the ongoing drama on Summer House. Andy asked him bout his feelings watching the season back, and he didn’t hold back about the difficult emotions bubbling to the surface after watching each episode.
A tough season for Carl
Going into Season 8, we all knew we’d be seeing Lindsay and Carl’s relationship woes play out, but we didn’t know it would be this nasty. When Linds made digs at Carl’s sobriety, it crossed a line for everyone. At one point, she accused him of being “on cocaine.” On WWHL, Carl explained how challenging it felt watching Lindsay question his sobriety.
“The whole, I think, three or four episodes thus far, it’s been hard to watch and relive,” Carl shared.
For Carl, part of what makes things worse is seeing other sides to the drama that he wasn’t aware of before. He’s watching this saga from an all-new perspective. Imagine how he felt seeing Lindsay’s confessional where she admitted that she knew Carl didn’t break his sobriety.
“I’m picking up on things that I wasn’t privy to up until recently,” he explained.
Ultimately, Carl said that the way things have played out in Season 8 makes him feel confident in his decision to call off his engagement to Lindsay. There are some things you just can’t come back from. Questioning his sobriety was one of them.
Carl explained, “Deep down, I think it is just a reminder that I made the right decision.”
