Adding insult to injury. John Janssen and his thirst strikes again after filing a lawsuit against ex-girlfriend Shannon Beador. The two broke up in November of 2022 but for some reason, John is looking to recover some cash from Shannon now.
He’s alleging that the Real Housewives of Orange County star owes him big money for her facelift and he’s trying to collect in the courts. People has the details.
The fight over a facelift
John filed a lawsuit in the Orange County Superior Court for breach of contract and fraud, to name a few. He’s accusing Shannon of taking $75k from him without paying it back. Court documents state that he gave her one payment of $40k via wire transfer and another $35k via personal check. I know Orange County is pricey but $75k for a facelift?!
Either way, John insisted that Shannon promised to pay him back with interest. Ok, I have a very hard time believing this. Shannon may have bad taste in men but agreeing to pay interest back to her boyfriend? Why is he even charging interest? The Bank of John Janssen sounds extremely janky.

Shannon responded with a statement to People. “I am shocked and disappointed that John has a filed a lawsuit. My attorney has been in constant communication with his counsel. I agreed to pay John what he wanted because I knew that attorneys fees would surpass the amount sought, but more importantly to eliminate the negative emotional components that come with a lawsuit. It is important that I continue to focus on the positive aspects of my life and move forward,” she wrote.
The reality Bravo star concluded, “John declined the offer because he refused to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement. I was hoping that if I met his baseless demand we could at least use this as an opportunity to bring complete closure to this chapter in my life.”
But John’s lawyers are disputing Shannon’s claim that the money was a “gift.” They stated, “Ms. Beador’s defense that Mr. Janssen paid her the $75,000 as a ‘gift’ is completely meritless, which their e-mails and text messages will show. Mr. Janssen is saddened that Ms. Beador’s unwillingness to repay the loans made it necessary to file this lawsuit.”
Shannon and John dated for three and a half years before he unceremoniously dumped her shortly after Season 17 of RHOC.
He has since started dating Shannon’s returning castmate, Alexis Bellino. She’s filming Season 18 of RHOC as a “friend of.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County is expected to return to Bravo later this year.
