It’s the white party dinner of discomfort. Bravo presented the Summer House Season 8, Episode 8 preview, which was a continuation of that uncomfortable sit-down from the previous episode when Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke started bickering about their future. It’s hardly the setting, but it is reality TV after all.
Kyle and Amanda are far cry away from their stint on Winter House Season 3, when the Loverboy founder was hoping his wife might be pregnant after Amanda suffered from GI issues while on vacation in Colorado. No one is talking about trying for kids currently, and Kyle has vocalized his concern about moving to the suburbs. That, for him, is synonymous with cutting back on his partying and starting a family. Heavy concern for the Summer House original star.
Kyle is focused on his “sanity”
The clip starts back at the dinner table, with Amanda speaking about her “future.” Which, in her mind includes, “kids, and raising a family.”
“I’m thinking about my sanity,” Kyle snarks in reply. “I get a little concerned about just how disconnected I’m going to feel. Because there is no more connected city than New York City in the world.”
Lindsay Hubbard interjected, “As a man, you just f*cking get over it. Once you start having kids, your priorities start changing.”
“Like I don’t even know what I want out of this thing,” Kyle then states, making eye contact with nobody in particular.
Lindsay followed up to ask if he was even sure he wanted kids at this point.
Gesturing to Amanda, Kyle answered, “Like, we need to be in better lock-step.”
She quickly reminded him that they’re “not having kids yet.”
Amanda revealed that she and Kyle always spoke about raising a family in the suburbs
But Kyle is looking for validation to “feel content.” He told her, “I want to feel like you and I are in a better communication place. Otherwise, I’m gonna feel really lonely.”
In a confessional interview, Amanda expressed her shock at Kyle’s change heart.
“Kyle and I have always been in agreement that we want to raise a family in the suburbs,” she explained. “We both grew up with backyards, playing with our friends in the street. That’s something we have always, always agreed on. So for him to be back-peddling and changing the script on me, I’m just kinda like, ‘what the f*ck?'”
It’s an interesting turn of events. One that perhaps, will shift again. But in real time, Summer House fans know that Kyle and Amanda are still going strong.
