Kymanda, aka Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke, haven’t always had the best reputation for a solid relationship. The graphic designer is nine years younger than the Loverboy founder, who first appeared on the series as a one-night stand. But something about her bohemian air caught Kyle off guard, launching him into his journey. Kyle, known for his love of partying and all-nighters, hasn’t settled down. This is becoming an issue for Amanda, who just wants to be able to sleep through the night without being woken up at 4 AM.
The couple isn’t on the same page
For seasons, Kyle and Amanda have been all over the place. But their issues come to a head during their weekends at the shared house in Montauk. It feels like these two just aren’t always the greatest when it comes to communication, and after a hard day’s work on Loverboy, Amanda had enough. Kyle had wanted Amanda to quit her day job and join the drink company for years, but he started to sound like a broken record.
During this Summer House particular fight, Kyle once again asked to talk about the company. And all poor Amanda wanted to do was sit and watch Bravo. Girl, I can relate. Amanda asked, “Can I not do it tonight?” But Kyle was worried and wondered when they would have time to talk. Kyle shared his frustrations: “It’s always tomorrow, tomorrow.” The growing pains in their relationship were obvious, and it doesn’t feel like they have ever totally fixed them.
Kyle flipped the script
Since the dawn of Amanda appearing on Summer House, the New Jersey native has made it very clear she wanted to have children. But in the most recent episode, Kyle shared that he didn’t feel like their relationship would sustain adding little ones at the moment. Now, I’ve always been taught to fight with my spouse in private, but these two love interjecting their feelings into a group dinner. Kyle noted, “I don’t even know what I want out of this.”
The statement left Amanda feeling very ambushed, and rightfully so. It was such a personal conversation that should have already been had. Amanda basically shut her husband’s feelings down, noting that it was “f*cked” up that he would change his mind. As the dinner ended and the stars aligned, cameras caught Kyle saying, “Amanda, please be nice to me.” Even though it wasn’t a drag-out fight, it felt very stressful.
Kyle breaks the news of cheating
Kyle couldn’t remember that he had cheated on Amanda, which is just mind-blowing. Realizing he screwed up after a blackout night out meant he needed to tell his girlfriend at the time the truth. It was hard to watch since Amanda had just gushed about how great Kyle was. The emotion and suspense of this conversation was tummy turning because Amanda was being so sweet. But what transpired was tears and yelling from Amanda, who noted, “There are no rumors about me. I wouldn’t do that to you.”
Don’t cry over spilled water
When Kyle drank just a little too much, the couple’s discussions got intense. This particular argument occurred over a glass of spilled water that Kyle claimed Amanda knocked out of his hand. Amanda told Kyle, “This is not fun for me anymore. Is this what you want? Do you want me to break up with you?” Kyle lost full control, telling Amanda, “If you say another word, I don’t want to see you the entire night. This is the worst fight in all of history.”
Now, I am pretty sure we can think of a few worse fights throughout history, but I wouldn’t have argued with drunk Kyle, either. In an emotional performance, Amanda was clearly exhausted, noting they couldn’t go on like this. But Kyle hit below the belt, revealing, “I don’t think I’m going to marry you.” All Amanda could think to say was, “Go f*ck yourself.” Sadly, not many fans are rooting for them to succeed in their marriage.
