Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 is kicking Shannon Beador’s tail. Drunk driving and an arrest, followed by the public’s angry reactions, will do that to a gal. In addition, Shannon’s ex, John Janssen, is now suing her, while his new girlfriend, Alexis Bellino, rejoins Shannon’s cast. If you ask Emily Simpson about John, you’ll learn she’s not his biggest fan, despite Alexis’ persuasive attempts at rebranding her man post-Shannon. Emily still doesn’t trust the guy, and for his lawsuit against Shannon, Emily says that’s suspicious.
Emily thinks the timing of John’s lawsuit is ‘suspect’
John initiated his lawsuit against Shannon on March 20, 2024. He is now suing his ex for $75K. Allegedly, Shannon borrowed this large amount of cash from John for a facelift. She then agreed to pay his loan back with interest, but despite multiple requests in 2023 and 2024, John claims Shannon has yet to pay a dime.
On Shannon’s end, her attorney clapped back, saying Shannon agreed to pay his full ask, but “John declined the offer because he refused to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement.”
This battle is now in the hands of the courts.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live this week, Andy Cohen asked Emily about this lawsuit. “What’s your take on the John Janssen lawsuit against Shannon,” Andy asked. After sighing, Emily had a very Shannon-supportive response.
“I think that the timing of it is very suspect. I think he [John] had an opportunity to ask for the money when they broke up months ago. But I think he meticulously waited to do it while we were filming,” Emily bluntly ended, as Andy sounded with an “mmmm.”
This statement will likely not find Alexis well. Nor Johnny J. But it will give us yet another storyline on RHOC for Season 19, should Emily and Alexis return.
Real Housewives of Orange County airs every Thursday at 9/8c on Bravo.
