Jenn Tran’s Ex Matt Rossi Filmed Unaired Bachelorette ‘Men Tell All’ Segment

Apparently, ABC invited Jenn Tran’s ex, Matt Rossi, to The Bachelorette: Men Tell All. He dutifully put on a suit, went down to the studio, and filmed his interview.

But, surprise! On August 27, Matt’s interview was MIA from the final print of the show. The poor guy sat through that whole trainwreck, waiting for his big scene, only to find it had been cut.

“They made me come to Men Tell All, rehash everything out, just to cut the whole segment out,” he wrote on TikTok on August 30.

Since we didn’t get to see it on TV, Matt posted a mirror selfie showing off his dark blue suit and open-collar white button-up. “Release the tapes, it got juicy,” he captioned the photo.

During the show, Jenn faced many of her Bachelorette suitors, but Matt wasn’t among them.

Jenn’s ex caused an outbreak of insecurity among the other competitors when he reportedly paid his own way to New Zealand and begged her to take him back. He even dropped the L-word, which none of the other men had yet done. He was invited to the cocktail party, where he further pled his case.

“[When] we first really tried things out, we were much different people,” he told his ex, a nurse practitioner student. “We were not the adults that we are today … As we’ve grown into more adults over time, we’ve just found this bond growing stronger, and I hope that you can see how much you mean to me. I’m just not ready to let it go.”

A play to stay

Jenn and Matt dated on and off after beginning a relationship in 2020. In a confessional, she admitted that she was “torn” about whether or not she should allow him to join the show. Of course, the other men weren’t crazy about the idea either. Adding someone new beyond Night One never goes over well on this show.

“I’m fighting between this past versus this newness,” Jenn said. “I don’t want to hurt anyone, but I have to make a decision.”

But following a private conversation, Matt returned to tell the others that she’d sent him packing and that he wouldn’t be joining the show. I’m sure there was simultaneously a sigh of relief and a whoop of joy on the part of the other competitors.

“I just wanted to take a second to let you guys know I did come here completely [of] my own volition, but she let me know her future’s in this room,” Matt said. “She feels confident that you guys can offer something I can’t, and I’m just here to apologize. I’m not here to take anything away from your experience. I wish you all the best. I wish her the best.”

While Matt had no luck convincing Jenn to let him stay, host Jesse Palmer did say he was “very brave” for flying around the world to lay his heart at her feet.

“I think Matt showed a lot about his character in that moment,” Jesse said. “Speaking to the men was an ultimate sign of respect towards them and their journey with Jenn. I commend Matt for what he did.”

Maybe now that she’s single again, she and Matt will get back together since he “loves” her and all. She needs someone to cheer her on at Dancing with the Stars.

The Bachelorette Season 21 is now streaming on Hulu.
