Savannah Chrisley Had To Leave Airport Security With Gun in Her Purse

Do you ever find yourself carrying a deadly weapon and forgetting all about it? Probably not. For Savannah Chrisley, this is totally normal behavior that almost landed her a no-fly list. The Chrisley Knows Best star recently revealed on her podcast that she once showed up at the airport with a gun in her purse. Somehow, she almost went through the airport security before realizing it.

Savannah dropped this little nugget about her gun-toting ways on her Unlocked podcast. Usually, she uses the podcast as a space to air out her grievances about her parent’s multitude of legal issues. This time, she sat with a “roundtable” of friends and dished about their memories together. One of those memories was a time when they had to scurry away from airport security.

One of Savannah’s friends recalled, “It was the funniest thing because I thought she had drugs on her because she was like, ‘We can’t go through the security gate,’ and I was like, ‘Okay queen. I don’t know what’s going on but I support you. Let’s get out of here.'”

“I had a Glock,” Savannah replied. “Not just a gun, a Glock.”

Savannah and her friend said that it all happened after they had already waited in the airport security line. She realized she had the gun once a TSA agent asked her to look into her bag.

“We went through and they were like, ‘Ma’am we’re gonna need to search your bag,’” Savannah explained. “And Holly moved the gate and we jumped over and just ran.”

Now, it’s not like the TSA agents would have thrown her into prison for life if they found the gun. It would have probably been a slap on the wrist — nothing compared to the serious jail time her parents are facing. Still, Savannah knew they had to get the hell out of there.

“I believe in our second amendment rights so I got it very legally,” Savannah continued. “In Texas, you don’t have to have a carry permit so nothing was wrong with it, but it wouldn’t have been seen too kindly upon.”
