There is something about Dorinda Medley that fans can’t help but love. For the most part, the former Real Housewives of New York star was a caring woman who added a lot to the series. Dorinda came out with clever sayings and mug-worthy advice during her time on the show. But there were moments when Dorinda couldn’t help herself and had a major freakout. It might have been due to a full moon or the bewitching hour.
But with Halloween fast approaching, it made sense to look back at some of Dorinda’s ‘monster moments.’ I’d argue most of her freakouts were due to a lack of respect from the others. So, all the women had to learn was to be respectful and maybe carry some garlic in their pockets. But in the Big Apple, that was sometimes a hard thing to do.
Dorinda Medley makes Tamra Judge blow her top
During Season 2 of the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Dorinda hosted the ladies at Bluestone Manor. Naturally, the hostess set a few rules, including not eating in their rooms. Ever the rule breakers, Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge often drank their coffee and snacked in their beds. However, the hostess with the mostess was not about to stand for such disrespect.
The houseboy bought the duo yogurts and unknowingly almost started another world war. Dorinda tried to play it cool, sharing, “I just don’t do food in the room. I’m so petrified of mice and things.” If that little PSA weren’t enough, Dorinda then goes off to grab the plaque of rules, but Tamra isn’t having it. The OC star tries to diffuse the situation, saying, “I got it. No food in the room. I don’t need the plaque.” Dorinda was livid, stating, “There’s no I got it. That’s condescending. If you want to be treated like a child, I can do it. Don’t put f*cking food in my bedroom. How’s that? Are you six years old where you sit in bed and eat?”
Dorinda Medley throws a fit during the Season 12 finale
Leah McSweeney didn’t know what she was getting into when she dropped the “Tinsley” word during the finale party. Before the Married to the Mob owner could give the women props for a wonderful season, Dorinda flew off the handle. The blonde pointed her finger and said, “No! I’m not doing that sh*t. Sorry, f*ck you. I’m not a part of that.” As Leah was caught off guard, Dorinda added, “Tinsley did sh*t. Tinsley almost ruined our show.”
The rest of the women seemed just as confused as Leah. But Dorinda didn’t back down and put a halt to the drag show. She came storming back, yelling, “You’re going to give a toast to Tinsley Mortimer after she left the show and breached her contract? She left us. She’s a b*tch.” The whirlwind of energy came out of left field as Ramona Singer chose to leave the party in the end. In Dorinda’s defense, she didn’t feel Leah’s comments were authentic. During the reunion, she revealed, “We did such a great job as a group after she left halfway through the season. I was surprised we were going back to that.”

During Season 11, Dorinda had enough of Ramona’s selfish ways. During a frank conversation, she told the Singer Stinger, “You say something or do something, and I react to it. Don’t be surprised. If you put a fire on my hand and I say ‘ouch,’ don’t be surprised.” Ramona seemed visibly uncomfortable with the berating, but Dorinda continued on with her mission. “That’s what I don’t like. ‘Why are you acting like that?’ Just like the other night at the charity, you start yelling at me, I yell back,” she added.
Dorinda was referring to the event where Ramona kept interrupting Sonja Morgan during her speech. At the time, Ramona told Dorinda to be quiet in front of the group. Dorinda also pointed out that Ramona’s faces weren’t always the kindest. Dorinda’s main gripe was that Ramona never “makes her feel warm and fluffy.” As she exited the fight, Dorinda added, “Go for a swim in the Hudson. Have a ball.” Anyone who knows New York City knows that wasn’t the sweetest thing to say. But at the time, Dorinda was acting like a true scary person.
