Sister Wives Star Kody Brown Wishes He Talked More to Son Garrison Before His Death

Kody Brown is reconciling what more he could have done before his son, Garrison Brown, tragically passed away. The father and son were not on the best of terms before Garrison tragically passed in March. The Sister Wives star is now speaking out about his grief and what he wished he had done before his world was turned upside down.

Kody Brown is struggling to manage his grief

According to People, Kody always thought he’d “have more time” with his son. However, the Sister Wives star now accepts that he will not be gifted any extra minutes on the clock. Shortly before the premiere of Sister Wives, Kody told the outlet, “We could have been talking more. I’d get texts, stuff like that, and we could have, retrospectively, we could have done so much more.” The 55-year-old TLC star seemed sad about how he had left things with Garrison, noting, “And it was almost like, ‘I’m busy with my life, he’s busy with his life, and when we connect, we’ll connect.’” Garrison was only 25 when he committed suicide back in March.

The newest Sister Wives season will be addressing his death. Kody added, “It was kind of, like, ‘We’ve got forever.’ It was more, like, a convenience of time that I felt like I had. Retrospectively, there would’ve been more of a regular catching up and touching base.” Kody went on to note that he regret not making time to see Garrison in the months leading up to his death. The patriarch noted, “I want him to try and make me laugh because he was kind of that way. The hard part is giving away that future that I saw for him, the excitement. It’s strange having your child pass. The wave of grief is different from any wave of grief I have ever had… And it is different in the idea that it’s irreconcilable — the future that we missed with him.”
