Even though Monica Garcia isn’t a cast member for Season 5 of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, she is still letting viewers know she is very much around. The mayhem in Utah has turned the franchise upside down, in a good way, since Jen Shah’s departure. Monica wasn’t welcomed back for the newest season, but all that could change if she keeps up the good work on House of Villains.

Monica Garcia has a great voice for narrating the season

Somehow, the reality TV gods have smiled down on Monica as she announced she would be the voice, aka EVA 2.0, for the House of Villains. The former Mormon will now get to hang out with the baddest of the bad, so she should feel right at home. Season 4 of RHOSLC painted Monica out to be the season’s villain. But kicking her off the series only made her stronger.

Choosing Monica as the narrator of House of Villains was a genius move. Because, if nothing else, she has a tremendous sound-over voice. She has a range of voices that range from cutesy to cartoon-like.  Monica uses multiple tones and sound levels in her promo to capture the fans’ attention. She joked about who was better to keep viewers informed than her, noting, “I think that is enough of a Von Tease. For now.” As Bravo fans know, Monica had no problem raising her voice to be heard and will definitely be able to hold her own as she instructs the newest recruited villains in the house.

The new job keeps Monica Garcia under the NBCUniversal umbrella

E! Is owned by the NBCUniversal Media Group division of Comcast’s NBCUniversal. The same company owns Bravo. Seeing Monica on E!’s House of Villains means she is being kept under NBC’s umbrella and was never really put out to pasture. In her September 18th announcement, Monica screeched, “I’m back, b*tches. That’s right, it’s the one and only Monica Garcia. And if you thought you knew me from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, think again.” Monica added, “Because this time, I’m not just stirring the pot. I’m narrating the whole damn show!”

This whole setup has me thinking that NBC/Bravo/E! are all keeping an eye on her to see what else she can bring to the table. If she can successfully navigate the House of Villains, there could be more opportunities for Monica. Right now, all she has to do is keep villains like Teresa Giudice in line as the contestants as they live in a house together. Monica has to keep her cool as the villains work on sabotaging one another so they have a chance at winning $200,000. If I were the villains, I’d be worried Monica would somehow swoop in and take the cash.

With a gig like narrating a show on E!, the network cousin of Bravo, Monica has a real chance of being picked back up for a spot on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Monica was essentially kicked out of the franchise after she upset every single cast member. But a good run on House of Villains could be the key to Monica’s reprisal on the Bravo franchise. Like her or not, Monica was a pivotal storyline on Season 4 of RHOSLC. She bonded with Heather Gay over their lack of Mormon inclusivity. She claimed to be an informant against Jen.

Season 4 was all about Monica, and the premise worked. She kept viewers entertained as if she were a gladiator in the pit against multiple lions. Monica single-handedly brought about one of the most epic Real Housewives finales of all time. Monica also gave a hell of a performance at the multi-part reunion. Down the road, there could be a spot for Monica. The cast would need to really swallow their pride and welcome her back.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is streaming on Peacock.
