Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 only just started, and the cast already put Whitney Rose through the wringer. Those who caught the season premiere know that her costars came at her pretty strongly, but not always without reason.
Given how the premiere went down, it’s hard to imagine a Season 5 without Whitney. As it turns out, Whitney almost ended her RHOSLC run as far back as Season 3. Fans will know all of the trauma Whitney has dealt with on camera.
That trauma almost became too much for her to bear alongside her costars. By Whitney’s admission, her castmates did almost nothing for her when dealing with her buried past of abuse. Take it from Whitney herself.
Whitney Rose says her castmates have never supported her
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Whitney responded to one of Lisa’s heavier claims. As the interviewer noted, Lisa said that Whitney would use her trauma to justify rude behavior. In response, Whitney said, “That … makes me feel really bad. It hurts. To be honest with you, when I shared, I was very hesitant to share … what I was working on.”
Whitney revealed that in “Season 3, [she] almost quit the show.” As she explained, “I didn’t want to go through this publicly, and I didn’t feel that I really had the support of that friend group. But I decided to stick with it and keep going, and I feel like they missed the whole point. Not one of them’s really asked me details about it besides Angie [Katsanevas].”
She continued, “No one really knows what I’ve been through, what I’m going through, what I’m working through, and what I’ve overcome. And that alone is hurtful because I’ve sat hours on the phone listening to those women and getting to know them. I don’t think I see their point of view. They’re weaponizing it.” As such, Whitney felt done with the relationships.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
