As ever, some things go on behind the scenes when filming reality TV. In the case of Real Housewives of Orange County, the fight between Emily Simpson and Alexis Bellino had some relevant context that makes Emily’s actions more clear.
It all went down on the most recent episode of RHOC, after a girls’ night in at Jennifer Pedranti’s ended in a screaming match between Alexis and Emily. Emily left in a huff, but she’s mad about something in practically every episode. However, in a recent interview, she shared that there were more reasons for her frustrations than what was shown.
Emily Simpson didn’t want “someone else” “speaking for me”
Emily told Jeff Lewis on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy that Alexis was tiring the whole group for nearly an hour before the fight with Heather Dubrow even went down. When Emily did confront Heather about the wardrobe chosen for her for the Family Equality event, it turned towards Alexis. Either way, Emily did not feel heard.
“I don’t need someone else at that time and place speaking for me, or bringing it up in a way that’s going to be different than the way I want to articulate it. So I thought I have to get in here and say it before someone else does,” she said.
Jeff directed the conversation to Alexis. She started fighting with Emily over being allegedly brought into the conflict with Heather.
But the former reality TV star noted that Alexis “walked in and she was having a bad day and she was moody.” He asked Emily for the backstory.
“When Alexis first got there, she kept going on and on about how something was going on, but she couldn’t talk about it. So no joke, we all sat around cryptic for a good 45 minutes. Everyone was like, ‘Well what is it? Well, what is it? Well just say it. Well what is it?’ ‘I can’t, I can’t, I can’t talk about it.’ I’m talking like I lost a part of my life that I can never get back. I was so irritated. And then finally she did say something, they didn’t show it, but it was about the lawsuit,” Emily revealed.
Emily Simpson thinks Alexis Bellino didn’t expect John to file the lawsuit
Emily said Alexis felt stressed that John Janssen had gone ahead with the lawsuit against Shannon Beador. For that, Emily had no sympathy.
“It was about the fact that John had actually, ’cause you know, up to this point, it had only been a demand letter, right? And they were just negotiating. He had actually filed a lawsuit against Shannon. And I believe that that was coming out in People ’cause you know, they file a lawsuit and then they give it to People Magazine.” she explained.
Indeed, not many of the RHOC cast are rallying for Alexis at this point. She and Emily are still not speaking.
