I really wanted to root for Shannon Beador on this season of Real Housewives of Orange County. Since joining the juicy franchise, she has been through a wild rollercoaster in her relationships. Most recently, she sat behind the wheel of her car under the influence. I never thought Nine Lemons Beador was a bad person. But recently, my opinion has started to shift after the host of her spinoff claimed she wasn’t the nicest housewife behind the Gilded Gates.
Shannon Beador is accused of mistreating crew by Love Hotel host Joel Kim Booster
Shannon is starring in the new Peacock series, which also stars Luann de Lesseps, Gizelle Bryant, and Ashley Darby. In a now-deleted Instagram Story, Shannon, who jetted off to Cabo San Lucas for this role, looked to be the target of a fiery clapback from the host, Joel Kim Booster. The first story read, “Just because you’re a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best known for a string of failed relationships and a DUI does not make you a star and does not give you license to treat the people you work with like they are subhuman. Period.” Joel then noted that the network would most likely make him remove the post, but he encouraged followers to send him a DM if they wanted to see the videos. Evidently, Joel had receipts, proof, and a timeline.
As the host foretold, Peacock was not pleased. Joel wrote in his next story, “Well, that was quick. Anyway, don’t regret it. Hope you screenshot it. Hope she suffers.” Joel added, “Let’s just say I can’t imagine what John Janssen went through. Poor guy.”
Shannon Beador was roasted for her bad behavior
Joel continued his tirade on Instagram Live. The host dragged Shannon as the post highlighted the essential parts, noting, “She has been a TERROR for the entire three weeks, humiliates the crew, was hideous to him, and that at the wrap party just a few hours ago she was terrible to someone he really loves.” The post also claimed that Joel approached Shannon, saying, “He got in her face and said, ‘You think you’re a star? people don’t like you they pity you.’” The post added that Joel “COOKED Shannon. Like he roasted her, chopped her up, and served her for breakfast.”
Joel even went one step further, adding, “The daughters are just as bad.” Shannon has yet to confirm or deny the allegations, but her alleged actions don’t sit well with viewers. In fact, it reminds me of another badly behaved Real Housewives star, Jen Shah, who would also take her frustrations out on her Shah Squad. As fans will recall, Jen was outed after her designer recorded her tirade. Shannon better shape up fast, as it isn’t a good look to bite the hand that feeds you.
Shannon Beador can’t afford the bad press
Season 18 has already had Shannon fighting an uphill battle in the court of public opinion. No one is happy with her DUI and her reasoning for continuing to drink. But after Alexis Bellino entered the chat, fans started to feel the tiniest amount of empathy for the mother of three. However, any soft feelings will go right out the window if it is proven that Shannon was a little diva behind the scenes. The over-the-top look isn’t good for anyone, let alone on a Bravo personality. Fans of the network are diehard and don’t take any crap from an unthankful star. Personally, I think talent sometimes forgets that their followers are the ones who make them famous. Fans watch the shows, participate, and buy the merchandise. It’s not like Shannon became a Hollywood star overnight. Lest we forget this is still reality TV.
Now, Shannon needs to take a deep look at herself and ask, “Is this who I really want to be?” I’ll be honest: no viewer wants to stand behind a woman who thinks she is better than everyone and doesn’t take accountability for her mean-girl ways. Here is hoping Joel’s online tirade scared her straight. Or maybe it wasn’t true at all. Fans want to see more of Shannon from her Spanx days when she was funny. Not from her last ditch hoorah to stay relevant because she forgets kindness doesn’t cost you anything.
