Ahead of Real Housewives of New York Season 15, Erin Lichy shared some devastating news with fans. On October 1, just hours before the RHONY Season 15 premiere, Erin took to Instagram to share that her father, Eliahu Yitzhari, had passed away.
She posted multiple photos with and of her father throughout the years. Interspersed with the photos were texts from Eliahu, wherein he shared his love and pride for his daughter. Erin also posted a letter, reflecting on her gratitude for her father.
“When I started to see that my dad was declining, one thing kept running through my mind – the words thank you.” She thanked her father specifically for many things, such as believing in her, the many phone calls, and the lessons in how to treat others.

Most of all, Erin thanked her father for teaching her family how to be “a unit. That the 5 of us came from the free trunk of your hand and each one is a branch. That each branch is complete only if the other branches surround it. … [W]e will continue to be 5 branches together.”
In the post’s caption, Erin wrote, “My heart and soul. My best friend, my courage, my strength, my superpower. How grateful I feel to have had you as a parent to guide me, to uplift me, to teach me how to live life to the absolute fullest. Your generosity is unmatched and I have learned not only how many people you helped silently but what a lasting impression your kindness left.”
She continued, “Knowing I won’t see you laugh again or sing to me on the opposite end of the phone is a heartbreak I did not know existed, but somehow I know you are still there. You have given me the greatest gift and I cannot feel anything but sincerely grateful to you for being my father.”
Erin further reemphasized, “You left this world so beautifully, with your children by your side until the very end, and you made it very clear that your dying wish was that us 5, your legacy, stick together. We will honor you every single day.” The RHONY star received an outpouring of support from fans, costars, and other Bravolebs.
