So it looks like Nick Dorka on the new season of Love Is Blind did not learn anything from the backlash of the Chelsea Blackwell/Megan Fox debacle last season. In this new season, Nick said he looked better than Travis Kelce and resembled a less buff Henry Cavill.
Honestly, for future reference, men of the world, it’s probably best you don’t compare yourself to the Man of Steel. Just to be safe. Although in Nick’s defense, he may have shot his season before seeing what happened to Chelsea in Season 6.
Nick D. is doubling down on his comments
However, US Weekly couldn’t help but bring up his comments during a joint interview with Tyler Francis. They discussed the Henry Cavill/Travis Kelce optics and the comments he made during his pod dates with Hannah Jiles.
He said he knew she was a cheerleader in high school and assumed that she must have dated the quarterback.
She playfully replied, “You know what I was thinking last night? I’ll be your Taylor Swift and you can be my Travis Kelce.”
It was likely meant as a playful joke although Nick may have taken the joke a bit too far. He went straight to the looks department. “Oh, my gosh, I’m a bit better looking than Travis, but I think you might be better looking than Taylor anyway. We could be a little cute football couple.”
In and of itself, that may not have been so bad but as they continued to discuss celebrity crushes, Hanna mentioned her crush was Henry Cavill.
And Nick replied, “Superman, right? I kind of look like him. Like, the less buff version of him.” And even though he quantified it by saying a less buff version, comparing himself to Henry Cavill, in general, was a pretty bold statement, especially since his remarks made the edit.
Again, let’s learn from Chelsea and maybe steer clear of celebrity comparisons. Although, she did have Megan Fox defend her, which was cool!
Although it looks like Nick is walking back the Superman comment. In his interview with US, he amended, “I’d like to change the Henry Cavill comparison to JJ Redick.” And he said he was just joking about Travis but doubled down that he was better looking than him.
When Tyler was asked whether he agreed, he gave the perfect answer and said, “No comment.”
