Brittany Cartwright Responds to Jax Taylor’s Claim They Didn’t Legally Marry

The Valley star Jax Taylor stepped over a line with his latest stunt, and his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright is not having any of it.

In court documents he submitted giving Brittany custody of their son Cruz, Jax claimed they never “legally married.” What?! We all saw the 2019 Kentucky Castle extravaganza that was their wedding.

On Wednesday, Brittany disputed the claim in an Instagram comment. “We are legally married,” she wrote. “I’m guessing filling out paperwork is hard for some people.” Oh, snap!

Their spokesperson suggested the same thing, telling Page Six that Jax “made errors in filing out forms … usually done by trained legal professionals.”

Promising to amend the errors ASAP, the rep added, “Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern.”

The couple married in a weeks-long storyline on Vanderpump Rules. They officially tied the knot in June 2019, the ceremony officiated by Lance Bass.

The former NSYNC singer came to Britt’s support with a comment on her Instagram statement on October 2. “I can confirm this,” he wrote. “Pastor Lance signed the papers.”

Meanwhile, Jax has yet to comment on the issue surrounding the documents he filed in person at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County last month. In the paperwork, he listed their LA home as their only shared property. He also checked boxes giving his soon-to-be-ex-wife full legal and physical custody of their three-year-old son.

Brittany announced the couple’s split in February, listing their date of separation as January 24 in her divorce documents. When she filed her divorce paperwork in August, she requested joint custody. Jax and Britt have repeatedly said that the best interest of their son comes “first … even if [she and Taylor] are fighting.”

The Valley Season 1 is available to stream on Peacock.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK JAX SHOULD HAVE HAD SOMEONE HELP HIM WITH THE PAPERWORK? DO YOU THINK HE IMPLIED THEY WERE NEVER LEGALLY MARRIED ON PURPOSE?
