Jesse Palmer Makes the Case for Golden Bachelor in Paradise

After skipping Bachelor in Paradise in 2024, host Jesse Palmer is looking forward to getting back to the beach.

But will the Bachelor Nation stars be joined by some favorites from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette? That’s a very interesting idea to commingle the older folks with the young, pretty people on the beach. It’s like taking Gramps and Grammy on your Mexican vacation.

“I think it would be so great,” Jesse says. “I mean, the cast from Gerry’s [Turner] season, the cast from Joan’s [Vassos] season, it’s incredible. And as long as it’s not … a retirement place, it has to be a tropical beach. And personally, I think you should have air conditioning.” I agree. You don’t want anybody having a stroke in the heat.

It would be fun to watch the older folks make some love connections in Paradise. While I’m not ready to see any seniors in speedos, I think they would have a ball. Unlike many of the younger folks who just came to play, the seniors are serious about finding a partner.

For his part, Jesse imagines a love match between Susan Noles and Jack Lencioni. “I think you need to have an open kitchen and let Jack and Susan [cook],” he told Us Weekly. “It would be amazing.”

Though ABC announced the show would be returning to the beach in 2025, no further details have been forthcoming.

Some fans of the show may have noticed Jesse’s increased role in Bachelor Nation. He went golfing with some of Season 21 Bachelorette Jenn Tran’s finalists. He’s been a sounding board and the occasional shoulder to cry on.

“It’s been really fun to be a part of all that,” Jesse said. “I don’t ever wanna force myself into a scene or a situation because this is not about me at all … There have been times where it was spontaneous in the moment, just asking, ‘Hey, can I go in? Can I give this guy a hug? Or can I talk to her? She looks like she just needs to talk to somebody.’ I hope I get to keep doing it.”

Jesse recently launched his own sports apparel line, J. Palmer. He’s also back as a college football analyst for ESPN and the SEC network.

“It’s football, it’s Bachelor, it’s Golden Bachelor … it’s J. Palmer,” he added, joking, “My wife hates me right now.”

The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
