Jeff Probst Thinks One Former Survivor Player Could Join Production

Hundreds of people have played Survivor, but is there a world where one of them could step behind the scenes as a producer? Possibly. Jeff Probst recently shared in an episode of his podcast, “On Fire With Jeff Probst,” that there’s one particular Survivor alum who could step into the production side of things. However, it’s not because of their prowess at the game. It’s because this person already has a celebrated career in film and television.

Jeff Probst thinks one Survivor player in particular could work their way into production

On Jeff’s podcast, when asked about a former Survivor contestant stepping into a producer role, he quickly replied, “That’s not completely out of the question.”

Jeff immediately had someone in mind — Mike White from Season 37, Survivor: David vs. Goliath. He finished the season in second place, but that’s not why Jeff thinks he’d make a good producer on Survivor. He’d be a good fit for the show because of his decades-long career as an Emmy-award-winning director, writer, and producer. His most current work is the HBO hit The White Lotus. Ever heard of it? Now, imagine having that type of visionary behind the scenes on Survivor.

“If after Mike White completes what we all hope will be a decades-long run of The White Lotus and he said, ‘Hey, Probst, I’d be interested in being a producer on the show,’ and we happened to have a producing slot that we were looking to fill and there wasn’t anybody already in our producing ranks who was in line — which is also very unlikely that that would happen — then in that specific situation, who knows?” Jeff shared.

“Mike White could join the producing ranks of Survivor,” he continued.

Of course, the likelihood of this happening is slim to none. There’s no way Mike would step away from the HBO money and the Emmys to produce a season of Survivor. But, they are getting ready to celebrate the 50th season of the show. If there were ever a time for him to do it, that would be it.

Survivor 47 airs on CBS airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c.
