Luann de Lesseps Thankful for Cabaret Career as ‘TV Gigs Are Far and Few Between’

Real Housewives of New York alum Luann de Lesseps has made her mark on reality TV. She not only starred in RHONY but also Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. While fans may have been skeptical of Luann’s cabaret show dreams, she has proved the nay-sayers wrong. And now she is explaining why she is grateful for her cabaret career.

Luann knew that she needed a gig besides being on Real Housewives. “Thank God because the TV gigs are far and few between,” Luann told Page Six. She added that being a housewife doesn’t mean that you’re rolling in cash. “Nobody makes money from Housewives in the beginning,” she stated, explaining that “it takes years” to start making money.

Meanwhile, Luann’s cabaret show appears to be doing well. “I’m thrilled, cabaret is going great and my show at Sony Hall in November is sold out,” she stated. And in 2025, Luann is going to be touring in Australia and London. When she took her show, titled Marry F Kill to London during the summer of 2024, she invited King Charles to the event. As one does. Unfortunately, the King did not attend and missed out on Luann’s vocal stylings.

While Luann has been touring with her show, she has also kept busy with other reality TV projects. She filmed Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake on Bravo with her friend, Sonja Morgan. The world is still waiting to see if there will be a second season.

Then Luann was one of the single and ready-to-mingle Bravo Bachelorettes on a dating show, Love Hotel. That project, which also stars Shannon Beador, Ashley Darby, and Gizelle Bryant, was recently in the news because of Joel Kim Booster’s rant. The host slammed Shannon, calling her “subhuman.” Yikes!

He later apologized for his comments. Of course, Luann was “sad” to read Joel’s comments about her friend Shannon. “He apologized,” Luann told Page Six, “and you know, people make mistakes, don’t they?”

Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake is streaming on Peacock.
