By now, fans have figured out that Meri Brown is the worst representation of a woman loving a man. She’s done it all wrong for 30 years, and Kody Brown has the receipts to prove it. I hope you can tell I am being facetious, as Meri was not the one to blame. But this is precisely what the patriarch would have you think after watching years of Sister Wives.
Here’s what Meri could have done to ensure things worked with Kody. And just remember; I’m being totally sarcastic here. Kody’s a dinosaur, and this is 2024.
Meri Brown could have made more of her famed dessert
As we all know, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. The art of culinary seduction is finite. So, while Kody was slowly falling out of love with his first wife, she should have been in the kitchen whipping up a batch of her famous Rice Krispie Treats. We’ve seen these babies everywhere. From a turkey-shaped monstrosity at Thanksgiving to a platter of 30 to represent each year married. At the time, Kody noted, “She put a bag full of them, one for every year of our marriage. She even included the bad years, the ones where I was like, we’re basically not really married, and the expression was sweet, and the mood that I was in was the right mood to try and think about reconciliation.”
It was safe to say that Kody enjoyed those treats. Meri once told TLC cameras, “Kody loves Rice Krispies,” and the gift just stuck. The secret, fans learned, was using brown butter. But there wasn’t enough brown butter in the entire state of Arizona to save her marriage. But here’s the real question: How do we know Meri made these delicious morsels? She did cheat for months, so for all Kody knows, she could have just pretended to make them. I can picture it now: Meri unwrapping dozens of lunchbox snacks and stacking them on her family’s plate. But maybe if she had just made them every day for Kody, their marriage could have lasted.
Meri Brown could have been more sexy
During the newest episode of Sister Wives, Kody had the gall to announce that it was Meri’s fault that he fell out of love with her. We all knew Kody had delusions of grandeur, but to sit back and tell his first wife that the divorce was her fault was a stroke of genius. Kody told his ex-wife what every man wishes he could say, noting, “Don’t blame me for not loving you. I was doing my duty. Blame yourself if I don’t love you, OK?” And maybe Kody has a point. Did Meri really try her best? She could have made him feel like a king in his manor by waiting on him hand and foot because, clearly, he knows what is best.
Kody shared, “When I’m in love with a woman, that’s her fault. So what happens when I’m not in love with a woman? Is that just my fault? If I’m mad about a woman, want to serve her, passionate, want to rub her feet, want to carry in her groceries, if I want to buy her jewelry, if I want her to feel special all the time, if I’m in love with a woman, I think that’s her fault.” So, what I am hearing is Meri could have sexed herself up a bit to entice Kody back into the marriage. Ah, that is the advice every divorcee needs to hear, “Honey, you just weren’t hot enough.”
Meri Brown’s cheating scandal didn’t help
Okay, we’ve had some fun, but there is one thing Meri could have done differently. And that is to have been upfront and truthful with Kody about her affair. Sister Wives fans will recall that Meri found herself in love with a catfish that turned out to be a woman pretending to be a man. The 2015 incident broke the marriage and left Kody feeling very angry. For once, I don’t think Kody was wrong with the emotion he showed. Meri had deceived him and broke their trust.
What she should have done, in retrospect, was talk her feelings out with Kody. At the time, she wasn’t getting enough attention, and that responsibility landed on Kody. The two were struggling to find the same path, and in the end, Meri took the easy route out. If the mother of one could go back in time, I bet she would change 2015 and her broken vows. But alas, she is now single, and Kody is living his best life with his fourth and favorite wife.
