RHOSLC’s Lisa Barlow Responds After Angie Katsanevas Defends Parenting Comments

There’s an unwritten rule in the Housewives Universe: don’t ever talk about another woman’s children. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas feels Lisa Barlow broke that rule when she mentioned the name of Angie’s daughter in passing.

Lisa claimed that Angie used her daughter as an excuse to end their phone calls. When she wanted to end a call, Angie would say, “Elektra needs me.”

Angie was not okay that Lisa mentioned her daughter’s name and clapped back that Lisa allowed her 12-year-old son Henry to play video games until 2:00 am.

Angie Katsanevas clarifies her statement

On the RHOSLC After Show, Angie clarified her original statement. “Number one, I never called Lisa a bad mom,” she said. “And number two, Lisa crossed the line with me by bringing up my daughter. I would be on the phone with Lisa from the minute I woke up — and this is real — like, probably 100 times during the day … from morning to midday to afternoon to dinner to before bed, and sometimes until 2 in the morning.”

Angie shared that she was just very upset and hurt when she commented on Lisa’s son Henry gaming until the wee hours.

“I gave Lisa so much of my time and I did pull away from my family to do it,” Angie explained. “And so then … for Lisa to say, ‘You use your daughter as an excuse,’ we should never bring each other’s kids up. She’s little. She’s not older. I’m not a liar, and if I’ve gotta go, it’s because I’m a family woman.” Actually, Elektra is 13, a year older than Henry, and Angie didn’t hesitate to bring his name into the conversation.

Despite Angie insisting that she never called Lisa a “bad mom,” Lisa felt that was what Angie was implying. “I mean, it’s such an insult to me and Henry that Angie told Heather [Gay] that I’m basically a bad mom because my kids are up playing video games ’til [two] in the morning, which would never happen.”

So why did the fur-loving fashionista even mention Elektra in the first place? Lisa said she only commented on “a reaction to [Angie] being like, ‘You don’t talk to me anymore.'”

“I’m like, I’m busy, you’re busy, and I don’t feel safe telling you things because you go and repeat them all to Whitney [Rose],” Lisa continued. “So, I brought up what [Angie] does. She has told me she does it. You can call [Lisa’s husband] John [Barlow] right now, and he will be like, ‘I was in the car, I heard it multiple times.’ She’ll say, ‘When I want to get off the phone with people, I’ll say Elektra is calling.’ And that’s what she started to do to me. She would call me and then be like, ‘Elektra is calling.’ I’m like, it’s 1 o’clock on a Thursday.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
