The Golden Bachelorette Episode 7 included both ups and downs for Joan. After traveling to Tahiti, Joan embarked on three romantic dates with her three remaining men. While two of Joan’s dates went extremely well, another took a shocking turn. This left Joan questioning everything and made her feel truly hurt for the first time this season.

The first fantasy suite date this week was Guy, who also happened to have the first hometown date. After a heart to heart with her friend Nancy, Joan was in a good head space going into the date. For the day portion of their date, Joan and Guy took a boat ride around Moorea to explore more of Tahiti. To make things more exciting, the pair went scuba diving where they got to swim besides sharks and stingrays. This was pretty brave of them!

While Joan was initially concerned that Guy’s feelings were further along than hers, this changed after the date. Guy reiterated to Joan that he was falling for her and she admitted her feelings were growing as well. Meanwhile, Chock was struggling with his own feelings during a conversation with host Jesse Palmer. Chock felt scared about Joan’s other connections and confessed that he would be devastated if she didn’t choose him. Poor Chock!

Later on at dinner, Joan expressed to Guy how much she felt their connection had grown. Guy was thrilled to hear this and told Joan that he was excited to spend the night with her. With that, Joan revealed that she didn’t plan to be physically intimate with any of the men during overnights. Guy respected her decision and accepted the invitation for the fantasy suite. The next morning, Guy was feeling great. It seems like the first ever Golden Bachelorette fantasy suite date was a success!

Joan and Chock enjoyed a fun day together

Chock was up second, after worrying about his connection with Joan. The couple got to ride around Tahiti in an ATV for their date which quite honestly I was jealous of! Joan felt good about Chock and admitted that she thought they could have a fun life together. Chock, on the other hand, still felt uneasy as he wasn’t sure where Joan was at with Guy and Pascal.

During the dinner portion of the date, Joan and Chock fully confessed their feelings for one another. Chock admitted to Joan that he had fallen in love with her, whereas Joan told him that she was confident he’d never hurt her. Joan continued to explain that Chock made her feel seen, which she hadn’t felt for so long.

Chock felt better after the conversation and revealed that he could see himself getting engaged to Joan. The next morning, a grinning Chock said that the night had gone well during a confessional but didn’t reveal details. Could Chock be the one?

A complicated situation for Joan and Pascal

While Guy and Chock had no questions about their feelings for Joan, Pascal didn’t feel as confident. Before his date, Pascal sat down with Jesse to discuss some of his concerns. Pascal explained that he had almost been engaged a year ago and that he was still hurting from the previous heartbreak. While Pascal wanted to make things work with Joan, he didn’t seem sure that she was the right person for him.

Joan on the other hand, was ecstatic to see Pascal. For the day portion of the date, the pair took part in a traditional Tahitian bonding ceremony. While Joan enjoyed it, Pascal appeared visibly uncomfortable throughout the process. Later on in a confessional, Pascal admitted that his walls were still up and that he felt freaked out from the ceremony. Uh oh.

By this point, it wasn’t hard to guess what was coming next. When Joan and Pascal sat down for dinner, he told her that he needed to be honest with her. Pascal told Joan that he knew what love felt like and that he didn’t feel it for her.

Joan was hurt, as she had high hopes for her and Pascal. After the devastating news, Joan walked Pascal out which caused her to be overcome with doubt. Joan expressed that her hope for her journey was starting to diminish and that she was worried she may end up with no one in the end.

The Golden Bachelorette continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
