Well, that happened. I’ll avoid getting into my personal opinions, but now more than ever, I wish we had Dorinda Medley and Carole Radziwill at the helm talking us down off a ledge. Both Bravo stars made their political stance very clear during their time on Real Housewives of New York. If all else failed, Dorinda and Carole would stand by the facts and try their best to move forward in a positive light.
Carole Radziwill threw an election party that ended in Democratic disaster
In 2016, most Americans were pretty convinced that Hilary Clinton would win the presidential campaign. No one gave a former reality TV star and now felon a second thought. For most of the season, Carole had made sure to voice her opinion, especially to co-stars like Ramona Singer, who didn’t seem to understand what was at stake.
The episode was traumatic as Carole and viewers finally learned the result, and it wasn’t good for Democrats. No amount of “I’m with her” chants seemed to help Carole’s broken heart. At the time, Carole noted, “This is unthinkable. It’s like I don’t even live in the same country. I came into this night thinking it’s going to be a celebration. Right now, I just can’t believe what is happening … I’m just dumbfounded.”
But just because the Dems lost didn’t mean Carole would fall back into the shadows. The journalist made sure to continue sharing facts about Hilary and Donald. She railed against the machine and didn’t pretend to support a president she had no faith in. If she were commentating on this week’s results, I know she would be hitting viewers with hard facts and shaking her head. I’m right there with ya, Carole.
Dorinda Medley takes on anti-vaxxers
Dorinda will never host Vicki Gunvalson again at Bluestone Manor, and for good reason. The OG of the OC has been vocal about her Republican support in the past. When the worldwide pandemic hit, Vicki complained about being unable to get her hair done. The mother of two also spread misinformation about the vaccine. Thankfully, Dorinda wasn’t having any of that nonsense when she hosted the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. Three weeks before filming, Vicki contracted COVID-19. She carelessly told the women, “I was so happy I got it, oh my god, it was the best thing ever.”
Vicki added, “There has to be an end to this booster, this, this, this … don’t even get me started. It’s a rabbit hole I will go down. Follow the money, baby, follow the money!” The hostess with the mostess had enough as she shamed Vicki for her careless attitude in regard to people dying. Dorinda noted, “Vaccination is not politics! Be intelligent enough to separate science from politics.” Dorinda’s emotions bubbled to the top as she added “I don’t know, you’re not sounding intelligent right now, that’s scary! My friend died from not being vaccinated.”
Dorinda and Carole are the election night duo America needs
Call it what you want; yelling, fact spewing, or emotion but Dorinda and Carole are passionate that the United States and women don’t get screwed in the process of voting for the next president.
Carole has not been quiet on this election eve as she has shared multiple Instagram Stories showing how Trump claimed that refugees were eating dogs and cats in Ohio. Carole has also kept her day full by calling residents in swing states and encouraging them to vote. Dorinda has also been active. She has encouraged her followers to vote. Dorinda told followers it is “so important that you vote today. It’s a privilege to use your voice.”
But perhaps Carole summed it up best, writing, “We can’t have our country run by an obese 80-year-old man in clear cognitive decline with seething rage against women and minorities who has committed numerous crimes in three different states and called for the assassination of his political opponents. Come on. You know I’m on the right side of history.” She ended, “Even Nixon knew when to bow out. Looking back, Nixon was a hero. Reagan was inspiring. Bush 41 was intelligent. What happened to the Republican party?”
