Meredith Marks and her husband worked hard on their marriage to get to a better place. When she and Seth Marks were first introduced to viewers, they were dealing with major issues. It was as bad as a near separation.
But the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City couple are still that. They’re together. However, Meredith and Seth still have to put the work in. Nothing was more obvious than after the November 6 episode of RHOSLC.
Meredith Marks and Seth were “pretty much inseparable” at that time
In the recent episode, Meredith was mad when Seth had to leave Palm Springs to travel for work.
Mer unburdened herself to costar Heather Gay, saying that it was a recurring issue that they had dealt with. And that it hurt all the more because they were “pretty much inseparable” at the time of filming Season 5. But communication was key in getting them back on track.
“Now, suddenly, he needs to be in Columbus,” Meredith said during the RHOSLC After Show. “I thought it was just going to be, like, every other week. And it’s slowly turning into every week, Monday through Friday, again.”
“Seth and I have lived in a lot of different places, [which] probably has something to do with why I don’t like to be anywhere for more than a couple weeks at a time. I don’t know, probably 18 years ago, me and the kids were still in Chicago, and he was supposed to be commuting to Toronto Tuesday to Thursday, and then it slowly became Monday to Friday.”
“And then it became, ‘Well, we should probably relocate the family there.’ Because it was just too hard on him going back and forth. And we did. But that’s not the first time we’ve done that.”
The RHOSLC favorite recalled how the issue encroached on their marriage in the past. And how easy it was to fall back into that habit.
“It snowballs into this beast where it’s like, hard for us to even connect,” Meredith said on the After Show.
Meredith and Seth make “a really big effort” to get through the difficult times
“We’ve worked so hard to get to such a great place. And now I feel like kind of we’ve gotten things under control a bit more,” Meredith shared. “You know, like, some weeks aren’t so great because we’re both totally over-scheduled in different places, but we’re both making a really big effort to try to get to the other one.”
Meredith and Seth have worked through difficult times. The couple can happily report they are in a better place now.
“I feel good about it today, but at the time I was upset and scared,” she concluded.
