The Valley’s perennial bad boy, Jax Taylor, is discovering how it feels to see his partner with someone else. For years he’s blithely cheated on all his girlfriends, including his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright.
But now the shoe is on the other foot. Since Brittany filed for divorce at the end of August, she’s free to date whomever she wants. And there’s nothing Jax can do about it.
So how is the serial cheater feeling about being on the receiving end of that situation? Especially when Brittany’s recent dating life saw her enjoy a fling with one of his friends…
Jax Taylor’s chickens are coming home to roost after Brittany Cartwright’s fling with his friend
In an interview with Bravo producer Alex Baskin, Jax talked about how he discovered Brittany’s new relationship and how it made him feel.
Jax found out Brittany was dating again by accident. “I saw it on her phone,” he admitted. “We were sitting in my house, and her phone was on the coffee table and a message popped up. I looked at it and it was a message from Julian [Sensley]. But it was at night and it was just a very weird message.”
“I called her on it, and I caught her in a couple of lies,” he added. “And then I got it out of her. An hour into the conversation, she finally broke and told me and … I was just in shock.”
As the parents of three-year-old Cruz are legally separated, they agreed it was okay to see other people. “But one of the rules was no friends or [anybody] we know,” Jax continued. “I don’t think I would have been bothered by it if it was somebody … I didn’t know. But the fact that it was one of my friends … I just felt like it was such a slap in the face.”
Jax was hurt that Britt had kept the secret from him
“I don’t have the best track record,” the Jax Studio City owner confessed. “I’ve done my fair share of things, and maybe it’s karma. But man, I definitely got a taste of my own medicine for sure.”
In 2017, Jax and Brittany went through a brief breakup between Seasons 5 and 6 of Vanderpump Rules. Jax had a one-night stand with Faith Stowers. Though he denied it for months, the truth eventually came out. They split for a while, but they eventually reunited and got engaged in June 2018.
But when the shoe was on the other foot, Jax said, “It put a really bad taste in my mouth … That’s kind of where the downward spiral started for me … The last eight months of my life have been hell … I went off the deep end. I really did.”
Jax went on to explain that over the summer of 2024, things were going well. He and Britt discussed getting back together. But when he discovered Brittany was still in contact with Julian, “I just I lost it … I just saw red. I kind of had an out of body experience. I’m not going to lie to you. I went crazy. I threw furniture. Thank God my son was upstairs … Two days later, I ended up in an institution.”
