The beer cheese ball is now in Brittany Cartwright’s court! Her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, might want to start crafting his own dairy spread.
We were first introduced to Brittany’s Kentucky grandmother’s beer cheese dip on Vanderpump Rules years ago. Britt and Jax aimed to monetize the snack by eventually producing and selling it as “Mamaw’s Beer Cheese.” Years later, as seen on The Valley, the two opened up a sports bar called Jax’s Studio City. Of course, MBC made it onto the menu.
However, Brittany’s opening a bar of her own – Britt’s. On top of that, she recently filed a trademark for Mamaw’s Beer Cheese. Jax’s name doesn’t appear on the paperwork.
Brittany Cartwright’s trademark application for Mamaw’s Beer Cheese is currently pending
According to The U.S. Sun, Brittany’s trademark application for Mamaw’s Beer Cheese is dated July 16, 2024. The filing is still under review. It reads, “A pending trademark application has been examined by the Office and has been published in a way that provides an opportunity for the public to oppose its registration.”
When Britt and Jax attempted to make Mamaw’s Beer Cheese a standalone business in 2019, they filed together. However, that trademark filing was abandoned in 2022 before Brittany independently refiled with “intent to use” this past summer.
Jax may be blacklisted from beer cheese, but he and Brittany are still working together on their businesses
Even though Brittany shared that she’s starting her own bar earlier this month, she and Jax are still intertwined when it comes to their businesses – and co-parenting.
They still both make episodes of their podcast When Reality Hits, though they record them separately because they can barely stand each other. Jax also revealed on a recent episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast that he’s a “silent partner” in Brittany’s new bar venture.
He explained, “My partners came up to me probably four weeks ago and said, ‘Hey Jax, what do you think of us opening up a bar called Britt’s?
“This was all during the thick of it. And they go, ‘Listen, we understand what’s going on with you, with the divorce, if you say no, we won’t do it, why don’t you sleep on it and let me know.’
“From a financial standpoint I thought why not, you know. But there’s gonna be some strings, I’m going to be an investor, I’m going to be the quote on quote ‘silent partner’.”
“I’m going to let her design it, she can have her say, but I will be having a stake in it. It’s under my title, Jax Taylor Inc.”
So far, Brittany hasn’t commented on her quest to monopolize her beloved Mamaw’s drama-launching appetizer.
Season 1 of The Valley streams on Peacock. A premiere date for Season 2 hasn’t been announced yet.
