We’ve seen a lot of questionable hairstyles over the years on reality TV, but the clip-on bangs we just witnessed on Meredith Marks took things to a whole different level. The questionable hairdo made its debut during Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5, Episode 10 during Mary Cosby’s “Breakfast at Mary’s” party.
At the time, Meredith called herself channeling Audrey Hepburn. Mary thought she looked more like a character out of The Flinstones. Either way, Meredith had some explaining to do, and she took a moment at Bravo Fan Fest to address the controversial bangs.
The bangs that launched a thousand memes
During Episode 10, appropriately titled “Kiss Kiss, Bangs Bangs,” Bronwyn Newport correctly predicted that Meredith’s hair would spark some online chatter. She was one hundred percent correct, but at Bravo Fan Fest, Meredith seemed to be standing by her choice to wear those bangs. Who cares what the internet has to say?
“I do not understand how everyone else there was not wearing the clip-in bangs,” Meredith teased during a panel at Bravo Fan Fest. “It was Breakfast at Tiffany’s!”
Meredith said she was trying to “embrace” the theme, but she admitted that the execution was a bit off. Anyone with eyes could see that, so we respect Meredith for keeping it real.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Meredith has sparked a conversation with her questionable fashion choices. Remember in Season 1 when she showed up to the finale party with a crystal and mesh face mask? She stood behind that decision, too. Maybe next time, she can pair the Audrey Hepburn bangs with the mesh mask.
