It’s been a long and contentious journey and now Nikki Garcia looks like she wants a fresh start. On the heels of settling her divorce with Artem Chigvintsev, the former WWE star has conducted a social media wipe and deleted all her old photos.
It’s the age-old practice when it comes to the end of a relationship. After all, you don’t want to have all those reminders on your social pages of your relationship after it’s over, especially if you are ready to let it all go. Looks like Nikki is ready to try and move past all that. Currently, only her profile picture and biography remain on her IG.
Nikki Garcia is letting go of the past, and step one is wiping social media clean
Nikki’s social media wipe comes last then one week after she had ex-husband Artem, with whom she shares four-year-old son Matteo, settled their divorce.
A spokesperson Nikki told E! News that “Nikki and Artem have settled their divorce and will not be going to court. Nikki’s No. 1 priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter. She is thankful for all the love and support she has received during this difficult time.”
For a while, it didn’t seem like it was possible for the two to reach an amicable settlement. Between dual restraining orders filed shortly after Artem was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence (he was not charged) and spousal support drama, the divorce drama got pretty messy.
However, both Nikki and Artem maintained throughout it all that what mattered most to them was their son Matteo. And it looks like they’ve decided that all this bad blood and publicity isn’t what’s best for their son and family.
The former couple have settled and also dropped their dual restraining orders against each other. A representative for Total Divas shared that the couple “decided to drop the domestic violence restraining orders against each other in an effort to move on with their lives and effectively co-parent their son.”
And it looks like that’s what Nikki’s trying to do. Wiping the past off her social media is a start. Now she’s got a proverbial and literal blank page for the next chapter.
