Sarah Martindale is making waves on Sold on SLC, Bravo’s newest hit real estate-based series. This show features high-stakes commissions that could easily change these agents’ lives. Due to this, the drama is already off the charts amongst this cast. Every realtor desires to break their previous records (while paying off their bills), so their claws are all out, eager to obtain as many signed contracts as they each feasibly can.
Stunning faces, luxurious homes, and petty banters are our thing, so consider us hooked. Therefore, Reality Tea got Sarah on the line. We are only two episodes in, and already, our questions are mounting for this stunning blonde realtor in Salt Lake City.
If you are new to this series, there is still time to catch up! To recap, Sold on SLC features a small fraction of the team at Presidio Real Estate Group, a real estate brokerage in Salt Lake City. Jennifer Yeo owns this brokerage. Sarah is one of her five featured agents in this series.
In the season premiere, Sarah showed off a listing to Lisa Barlow, and their interactions had us laughing right out of the gate. Even still, Jennifer is uncertain about Sarah. We can already tell that their issues will become one of the main focal points of this series.
Luckily for us, Sarah is refusing to shy away from this narrative. So now, we have a few answers that might make you say ah, courtesy of our exclusive chat with Sarah, the realtor who keeps giving via Sold on SLC.
For Sarah Martindale, it’s Jesus and real estate or bust
Sarah is a consummate professional with her clients thus far via Sold on SLC. She is also a devout Christian. So we asked Sarah about her real estate career and her faith, focusing first on what made her want to enter this often volatile industry in the first place.
“You know, my dad and brother are realtors in Brazil too. So I grew up watching them,” Sarah explained. When she moved to the States to continue her graduate studies at The University of Utah, Sarah met her now-husband, a broker named Chris Martindale. Chris began mentoring Sarah in all things real estate. As a lover of everything sales-related, this industry quickly lured Sarah in.
“I love sales. I literally can sell anything to anybody. So why not sell homes? I love helping my clients shop for homes,” Sarah stressed.
But does Sarah see herself in this industry for the long haul? Her answer is a resounding yes. However, this bombshell has also contemplated a modeling career, and Gisele Bündchen is her inspiration.
In Episode Two of Sold on SLC, Sarah shared a heartbreaking story that transpired eight years ago. She and her father went to the bank in Brazil, but gunmen approached, aiming their weapons directly at their heads. Sarah immediately started praying out loud. Thankfully, she and her father were physically unharmed.
For Sarah, this was God’s way of speaking to her. “He allowed this to happen,” Sarah said, adding, “that’s how my life is. Before something big or different is about to happen, things get a little bit chaotic, so every time chaotic things happen, I always tell my husband that good things are about to happen. Trust me, it’s the way God works.”
Lisa Barlow will make a few more appearances this season on Sold on SLC, Sarah Martindale teases
Sarah is currently showing homes to Lisa. Each scene of Lisa’s made me laugh, and I was equally impressed with how Sarah playfully joked in turn. Here’s looking at you, swinging on random swings at a showing, poking fun at the swinging rumors that often plague this locale.
We loved this crossover so much that we had to ask Sarah if Lisa might appear again this season on Sold on SLC. According to Sarah, this answer is a solid yes. Sadly (but understandably), where and when Lisa will pop up again remains a mystery. “I don’t know how much I can tell you, but you definitely will see more of Lisa,” Sarah revealed.
Sarah enjoys being around Lisa as their vibes fully align. “I can’t help myself. Every time we are together, we have so much fun. It’s so funny,” Sarah stressed.
Sarah Martindale tells her side of the alleged Sold on SLC poaching narrative
The main narrative getting set up right now teases that Sarah might be a spy (of sorts), poaching agents from Presidio for her spouse, who works at a competing Brokerage. A villain edit is never fun, so I asked Sarah how this narrative resonated with her.
“My husband and I were so nervous when we filmed that day, but it’s business.” However, this storyline could have ruined his company and their “reputation,” so Sarah is “careful [about] the way [she] talks to people. Sometimes, I want to sit up for myself, but at the same time, I still have to keep respect” for my boss, Sarah explained.
What made Sarah jump ship to work for a brokerage that competes against her husband? For starters, Sarah appreciates a challenge. Yet, her main reason is that she needed to prove to the world (and herself) that she could excel in this industry, with or without any help from Chris.
“I’m out there prospecting. I’m out there door knocking, making phone calls,” Sarah noted, annoyed that other realtors were giving her connections with Chris all of the credit for her successes.
So Sarah moved “to Presidio” because “Jen is the only [female] broker that is successful” in her area. But are the issues between Jennifer and Sarah fully sorted? Time will tell, Sarah teased.
According to Sarah Martindale, the drama has only just begun on Sold on SLC
During Episode One, the current and former members of the Mormon church started to clash. If an agent does not carry a strict lifestyle to align with this faith, can they still sell in this Mormom-heavy city? They can, Sarah answers, but for her, shared belief systems help her to connect with her clients.
Sarah is also (mostly) connecting well with her costars. Minus Matt Jones. In Episode 1, Matt expressed that Sarah is “sleeping with the enemy.” My money is on Sarah, and my funds are also waging a bet that the drama is far from over on Season 1 of Sold on SLC.
As this is a new series, we wanted to help get people excited to tune in. Therefore, I asked Sarah if there was anything she could reveal regarding the drama that still lies ahead on Sold on SLC.
“You know. One secret is about to come out, and it might make your jaw drop. But I can’t say more. You have to continue to watch and to find out the secret because when I found out about it, I almost passed out,” Sarah teased.
But will there be a Season 2 of Sold on SLC? Sarah hopes so. “I want to have even more fun with it because this has been an amazing journey,” Sarah raved.
Sold on SLC continues every Wednesday on Bravo at 9/8c.
