It seems like everyone on Bravo is coming out with a podcast. You have stars like Lala Kent and Janet Caperna, who just announced their own parenting podcast. And if I’m being honest, that’s the last thing I want to listen to on my day off. But then you have Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne throwing her hat into the ring. Now, her podcast can be interesting. With a name like Diamonds in the Rough, you know what you’re in for when tuning in.

It’s time for Erika Jayne to speak her mind

In their social media launch, Erika and Teddi Mellencamp noted, “We’re launching a new podcast, Diamonds in the Rough.” The women are more than happy to talk about the show that has made them famous, but they will also take a stab at pop culture and even give some hot takes. Erika explained that the concept was birthed out of their first meeting, noting, “We met as diamonds, and we’re going through some rough times.”

I was a bit surprised when Erika and Teddi announced their partnership. Teddi already has a successful podcast, Two Ts in a Pod with Tamra Judge. So, I am a bit confused as to why she has also teamed up with the Pretty Mess singer. The first episode has dropped, and the women seem to have pretty good chemistry, which makes sense since both were a part of the Fox Force Five. The first episode dove into “ovarian retirement, finances, and questionable search histories.”

Erika Jayne and Teddi Mellencamp deliver a perfect podcast

The lady’s conversation felt authentic as Erika and Teddi both laughed at their current situations. And I have to admit I was hooked. As Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans know, Teddi just announced her separation from her husband after being tied up in a cheating scandal. Erika has been going through her divorce from Tom Girardi since he was accused of stealing money from orphans and widows. I’m not sure I will be interested in what these two have to say, but I am willing to give them a chance. However, I am curious about what happened to Tamra. Some listeners are full-fledged fans already and begged Erika to replace Tammy Sue. It seems the singer’s lack of bias resonated with viewers.

Teddi was instantly placed in the hot seat and finally opened up about her divorce from Edwin Arroyave. She shared in the first episode that her children are aware of the separation, but things are amicable with her ex. Fans also learned that she was currently shacking up with Kyle Richards. The episode had Teddi announcing the news, and Erika responded, “Do you really? Holy sh*t,” Teddi noted she was sleeping in the “glam room” of the main house, adding, “That’s my bedroom now.” Erika seemed surprised as she replied, “No. Are you serious? Up there? I thought you were living in the house in the back.” The conversation was light and honest as if it were between two close friends.

These RHOBH diamonds are spilling the tea

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans seem excited about this new venture. Many took to the comments to show their support. One follower wrote, “Yessssss!!! Erika!!! I will definitely be listening regularly.” At the same time, another added, “Wonderful! Erika is a natural! Great team!” Personally, I like the idea of Erika and Teddi teaming up. Erika has always been a polarizing character. But even more so, she is a hustler who is actually very intelligent.

I am interested in hearing her take on what is happening in and out of our beloved Bravosphere. The singer is astute and often calls people out for their ongoing BS. So, I doubt this will be another padded podcast where listeners don’t get to the bottom of any real subject. However, some fans were worried that Teddi might have sold Tamra out. But that isn’t the case. Teddi put everyone at ease as she shared, “This is under the Two T’s In A Pod umbrella, and me and Tam do about five podcasts a week together.” The fun has just begun with these two, but I think the podcast will be a success.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays on Bravo.
