Since the announcement that Vanderpump Rules was moving forward with a new cast, the OG cast has been weighing in. Of course, Ariana Madix, is booked, blessed, and busy. Scandoval may have ultimately ended the show, but it propelled Ariana into a world of opportunities. However, the tension and fractures among the cast made it impossible to move forward. So, now that the original cast is being replaced by actual SURvers, does Ariana have any advice?
Ariana Madix would tell the new Pump Rules cast “to be themselves fully”
Recently, Ariana discussed how she felt about her time on Pump Rules ending. “I mean, when you think about it, it really makes a lot of sense for a direction forward for the show,” Ariana told TooFab. “If the show is going to continue, going back to its roots, going back to SUR. Yeah, I think it’ll be good.”
So, what would Ariana tell the new crop of VPR stars? Ariana said, “I would just tell them to be themselves fully and not try to fill the shoes of any past cast member or anything like that because I think that our audience is so great at deciphering what’s real and what’s authentic.”
The Love Island USA host continued, “And I think if anyone’s putting on, to try to be like another cast member … It’s better to just be yourself.”
Recently, Lisa Vanderpump commented that the new VPR would not “compete” with the original show. When asked if she thought the remark was a compliment, Ariana replied, “Well, yeah. And honestly, I think that it just won’t work.” She added, “I think that it would be a bad recipe for a new fresh show for someone to be doing that.”
However, if the new show is looking for a cute place to film, Ariana has just the spot. “If they want to come over and have an argument over a sandwich, Something About Her is like two doors down,” Ariana said, referencing her sandwich shop with Katie Maloney.
Meanwhile, Ariana is hoping to make a return to performing onstage. “Oh, I would hope to be doing some more theater! Just getting to be on stage and having singing and dancing as a part of my life in any possible way,” she explained, “even if that’s just in my living room, it makes me so happy. Maybe I’ll be back [as Roxie Hart]. I don’t know,” Ariana added. “Maybe.”
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
