Just in time for Southern Charm Season 10, Austen Kroll and Craig Conover have opened their bar, By The Way. Located in the heart of Charleston, the boys said they wanted to create a space where locals and tourists could come together to enjoy the neighborhood. According to a boots-on-the-ground report, the launch day went off without a hitch.
By The Way is open for business
Reality Tea’s invitation to the By The Way grand opening must have been lost in the mail because we certainly were not there. However, the Charleston City Paper was in the building and got the scoop on the new Southern Charm hot spot.
“Craig and I are ecstatic to partner with Uptown Hospitality Group to share our idea of the ideal all-day, all-night neighborhood hang; a spot where friends old and new come together on the regular for good food, killer drinks, and great fun,” Austen said.
By the Way is located a block away from King Street in Charleston. If you’re in the area, Leva Bonaparte’s bars featured on Southern Hospitality are within walking distance. You could have dinner at Austen and Craig’s spot and then go finish the night at Republic. It’s an ecosystem, and the boys are cashing in on it.
On the menu, you can expect classic cocktails and “elevated American fare.” For example, they have fancy deviled eggs, a duck confit sandwich, and caviar for food. Some of their signature drinks include various martinis, which you can enjoy in one of their plush booths while surrounded by artsy photographs of Charleston scenery.
If you’re in the Charleston area, you can check out By the Way on weekdays from 4 pm until 2 am and from 12 pm until 2 am on weekends. Who knows, you might just spot Austen and Craig!
