RHOSLC’s Britani Bateman Accuses Ex of Draining Shared Bank Account

On The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, we’ve watched Britani Bateman juggle three guys (not 10) at once. Off-camera, she’s juggling some major drama with her ex-husband, John Underwood.

Previously, she accused her ex-husband of inflicting emotional distress and demanding daily sex throughout their marriage. Now, she’s taking him to court over alleged financial misconduct.

The exes own multiple businesses together, and according to Britani, he drained their shared bank account. This is going to be some major mess…

Daily Mail got all of the details on Britani’s latest legal fight. When she and John got divorced, a Utah judge signed a Domestic Relations Injunction with specific instructions on how the two should navigate their complex relationship. New court documents accuse him of not following through with the order.

Britani hurled several accusations at John, with most of them linking back to their shared businesses. They own Starwood Group, a real estate development company, Pure Productions, an entertainment production company, and Millcreek Builders, a construction company. Britani said that he’s been misusing the funds from the businesses.

In the court documents, she accused John of “unauthorized expenditure of business funds on personal expenses, failure to add Britani to accounts related to the businesses of the parties, unauthorized draining of the account of the parties’ business, and failure to operate the businesses consistent with the parties’ historical manner.’”

In addition to misusing funds from the business, Britani accused John of rerouting her mail, dumping their marital stocks, and causing a lapse in her life insurance. Essentially, it sounds like he’s still trying to pull strings in Britani’s life.

Remarkably, this isn’t even all of Britani’s accusations. She also accused him of violating a protective order that instructs him to stay 25 feet away from her. Even if their joint businesses bring them together, he must maintain his distance. Allegedly, he hasn’t been doing that.

Violating that kind of protective order could land John in jail for up to a month. It could also cost him a fine of up to $1,000. However, it seems like Britani’s main concern is the money. She’s asking the court to force her ex to pay back the money he improperly spent. Plus, she wants him to restore her access to all of the record-keeping software for the businesses.

John has a hearing later this month to share his side of the story. We’ll keep you updated on how it all plays out.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Bravo on Wednesdays at 8/7c.
