Remember last year when Hayu announced The Real Housewives of London as the next international expansion of the franchise? Allegedly, it’s already falling apart at the seams.
We’ve been following various casting rumors since the show was announced, but a new report suggests that the producers are struggling to find their Housewives. Believe it or not, these women are not made in a factory, and it’s allegedly putting the future of the show in jeopardy.
Is there a casting crisis with The Real Housewives of London?
When Hayu announced the new show, they promised that we’d get the perfect combination of drama, glamour, and high society. The producers also said that filming would kick off in early 2025. However, a source told Daily Mail that they’re still at square one.
“They’re looking for businesswomen rather than celebs, not going down the WAG or celeb route. It’s not working as no one wants to do it,” an anonymous source claimed.
According to the insider, the producers have tried reaching out to fashion entrepreneurs, models, and even Selling Sunset star Chelsea Lazkani. Still, they aren’t getting any takers, and it’s putting their production timeline at risk.
Hayu hasn’t commented on these claims, so we have to take this with a grain of salt. But, this wouldn’t be the first time that producers had a hard time finding Housewives. When Bravo set out to find a new generation for The Real Housewives of New York, it took ages, and multiple reports spilled out from insiders saying that casting was challenging. The jury is still out on whether or not they got it right.
With that in mind, we hope the Real Housewives of London producers take their time to get it right. It’s not like there’s any shortage of Real Housewives content right now. We can wait for London.
