We can add Mary Cosby to the list of Bravolebrities with the Rihanna stamp of approval. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star recently revealed that she heard from the billionaire artist not once, but twice this season.
Season 5, Episode 11 delivered one of the franchise’s most poignant moments to date when Mary and Robert Cosby Jr. had a face-to-face conversation about his addiction. Just like the rest of us, Rihanna was moved by what she saw.
Rihanna has love for the Cosby family
In an interview with Vulture, Mary revealed that she wasn’t “worried” about addressing his struggles on camera because she felt like God led her to that moment. Some news outlets were threatening to leak stories about Robert going to rehab, but she chose to wait until the episode aired to address it.
When the world finally saw her conversation with Robert, Mary said she felt good about the positive response from viewers. She heard from most of her castmates, Housewives from other shows, and the one and only RiRi.
“I even heard from Britani [Bateman],” Mary recalled. “Lisa [Barlow] was the only one that didn’t reach out, and that’s why I said I felt she’s kind of the person that is a little bit happy when other people are going through something.”
She continued, “But everyone else and even other Housewives reached out to me. Even Rihanna reached out to me.”
According to Mary, she heard from Rihanna twice. She had nothing but love and support for the First Lady of Faith Temple. We’re over here still waiting for our Rihanna DM.
“She reached out to us when the show aired and told us she loved us,” Mary recalled. “And then on Christmas Day, she said, ‘Merry Christmas, and I love you and Robert Jr.'”
Mary added, “I feel like if you can reach people of that caliber, you’re doing something right, you know what I mean?”
