For three seasons, Joe Bradley has been pining for his perfect girl, Maddi Reese. However, the aspiring DJ was more into cheating pedicab drivers. As Maddi shot down Joe over and over again, the VIP host was forced to watch as Maddi paraded her now ex-boyfriend around the group while sharing their uncomfortable PDA moments. But now it seems the sun is finally shining on Joe as he is now officially Maddi’s boyfriend.
Joe Bradley and Maddi Reese started as friends
They say you should marry your best friend. And that is exactly what Joe is trying to do with Maddi. When Season 1 of Southern Hospitality premiered, there was obvious chemistry between the two young barbacks. Both were extremely attractive and had great banter. Joe would go out of his way to show that he cared for Maddi, who was navigating a life of sobriety. Even though Joe still continued to date other women, it was clear he only had eyes for Maddi.
Perhaps the funniest thing about their first year flirting was that Maddi genuinely didn’t seem interested in Joe. She friend-zoned him from the start and wanted nothing more than a shoulder to lean on. However, Joe continued to hold Maddi on a pedestal, creating almost a celestial being. No matter what she did in Joe’s eyes, she could do no wrong. Now, that is love. Joe continues to wear the rose-colored glasses around Maddi, and images of a white picket fence and 2.5 kids dance around his head.
Maddi Reese shows real emotion after health scare
Playing mermaids at Lake Rucker’s pool got a little too intense for Joe. While everyone swam, the VIP host swam head first into the brick wall. He not only bruised his face, but he also bruised his brain. The couple decided to call it a night and go to sleep. Even though that is the last thing, you want to do when you have a possible concussion. The next morning, Joe realized he had more than a hangover and asked Maddi to drive him to the hospital. The incident really shook the DJ to her core. Bravo cameras caught her crying upon their return after being extremely worried for her boyfriend.
It was cute to see just how much Maddi cared about Joe’s well-being. And it was apparent that she had invested genuine feelings into her relationship. She even told cameras that while she doesn’t like to “future trip,” she couldn’t imagine a life without Joe by her side. For his part, Joe gushed about his newfound table relationship. In a confessional, he shared, “It feels like a dream come true. I feel like I can finally be myself with her. I can fart in front of her. At night time I’ll just take my contacts out and flick them. Love is a crazy thing.”
First comes love, then comes a Southern Hospitality wedding
It is nice that Maddi realizes that Joe is a safe space rather than just a safe option. While chatting about their future, Joe notes, “I’ve always been Maddi’s biggest fan,” which totally melted viewer’s hearts. Joe even told Maddi’s parents “In my mind, I see myself in the next few years wanting to settle down and like that’s the exciting thing. I feel like we’re entering the next chapter of our lives.”
The trailer shows the couple eloping to Las Vegas, but no one is sure whether the vows were legally binding. However, Joe told E! I always kind of knew in my heart that we would be together, and I just feel like I had a little bit of growing up to do in a lot of ways.” The duo seems to truly be in love and that is refreshing, especially since other couples are wavering. Even though Joe used to be a playboy of King Street he seems to have turned over a new leaf. He shared “I wanted to be good enough of a guy for her and, being with her, I feel like I became a better person already.” And isn’t that all any woman really wants out of her partner?
Southern Hospitality is available to stream on Peacock.
