This season on Married to Medicine, we get to see Phaedra Parks on a date with a new man, Cheick Kone. No, Phaedra does not debut a romance with CT Tamburello, much to some The Traitors Season 2 fans’ chagrin. But the Bravo star is giving viewers a peek at her dating life this season. Of course, her ex-husband Apollo Nida is still on the periphery. And it turns out he has a connection to the new man in her life as well. Phaedra Parks’ new man Cheick Kone made his Married to Medicine debut
Married to Medicine viewers first met Cheick when he went on a date with Phaedra in Season 11. This came after he also made a cameo in the trailer. Their date happened as Phaedra was on the outs from her cast mates. He greeted her with a big bouquet, as Phaedra let him know that gifts are her love language.
As Cheick told Phaedra on the show, he’s French-African. He was born in Africa and grew up in Paris. He’s also in his thirties, so there’s a bit of an age difference.
In a confessional, Phaedra gushed that her new man Cheick is a “beautiful tall glass of hot chocolate.” They met at co-star Latesha “Sweet Tea” Lunceford’s speed dating event. Of course, the fact that they met while filming for Married to Medicine led to some speculation that it’s more of a showmance than the real deal. However, others in the comments on Bravo’s Instagram were happy to see Phaedra with a new, very good-looking man. And are rooting for the romance to work out.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Cheick works as an entrepreneur and business leader in the Atlanta area. He founded a medical supply company in 2019. So, that is a Married to Medicine connection. At this time, he also works in luxury car rentals and offers concierge services. He often poses with luxury vehicles while promoting his business on his Instagram page.
Before he entered the business world, Cheick was an athlete. Cheick played basketball for his alma mater University of the Philippines’ team the Fighting Maroons. During his time there, Cheick and his teammates were honored as Sportsmen Who Care in 2015. Cheick graduated from that university with a degree in Business Administration and Management.
How is Cheick Kone connected to Phaedra’s ex Apollo Nida?
While on his date with Phaedra, Cheick casually mentions that he knows her ex-husband, Apollo Nida. It comes out a little awkwardly, as he gestures “You know, I know your…” before coming out and saying it. He also said he is “close with” Apollo’s new wife.
While some may call that a red flag, Phaedra wasn’t too bothered or terribly surprised by this small-world connection between her new man and her ex. “Yeah, a lot of people know him” was her main reaction. After all, Cheick is local to Atlanta. And, as Phaedra said, Apollo is a “man about town.” Her co-stars also saw her ex out and about.
In a confessional, Phaedra said she appreciated Cheick’s transparency about his connection to her ex. Especially after Cheick said he doesn’t really hang out with them. He said it’s more of a thing where they’ll say hello when they see each other. “Apollo is married, I’ve definitely moved on,” Phaedra said, emphasizing it doesn’t bother her. She’s previously said that things with her ex are cordial these days. But she still has important boundaries with Apollo as they co-parent.

Back at Bravo Fan Fest in November, Phaedra teased her “delicious” dating life. While she wouldn’t spill too many details, she did share at the time that he’s in his 30s. She also said that Cheick may appear on Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 as well.
However, Phaedra also made it clear she has no interest in getting remarried. So, she’s emphasized that this new Cheick romance isn’t “so serious.” As for the age difference, she gushed that there are more “advantages than disadvantages with a young guy.” Specifically, for a guy like Cheick in his 30s, “you can do most things and not be sore in the morning.”
As she said on the show, she’s having fun with Cheick, and he makes her smile. She also told him that she could tell he has good energy. So, as long as he makes her happy, that’s all that matters right now.
