Okay, I am feeling the itch for a slight tweak when it comes to the Real Housewives of New York. I know we have already had one major reboot but I think we could do better. The same could be said for Summer House. The popular series has been a hit since 2017, and for the most part, there have been the same familiar faces renting the Montauk mansion. But hear me out. What if Bravo moved the ladies to Manhattan and gave a much-needed facelift to the beach franchise? Guys, I think it could work.
Lindsay Hubbard is a new mom
When Bethenny Frankel started on the Real Housewives of New York in 2006, she was only 38 years old. She wasn’t married and didn’t have children. Fast forward to Lindsay Hubbard, who is also 38 years old and has had her first baby. The two are similar in personality as both are hard-working and ambitious New Yorkers. I know some followers will argue that RHONY should be about married women, but that formula is no longer the status quo. Multiple franchises have only one married Real Housewives. So, the premise of interchanging the Summer House women could work.
Having Lindsay on the famed series would allow fans to watch her raise her daughter while also running her businesses. Her lifestyle would definitely mimic a young Bethenny, and fans LOVED B. I think as time goes on, it would become harder for Lindsay to vacation out in the Hamptons with a child, especially in the house where epic frat parties are still thrown. Her new sense of normal might be the fast-paced city life as she runs her daughter to and from playdates and chats with the other moms. Basically, there would be a new Queen Bee in town, and it would be an activated Lindsay.
Amanda Batula has the ring
The position of the one married friend would go to Amanda Batula. The New Jersey native has been waiting for years to settle into her housewife era, but Kyle Cooke has taken his sweet time. For multiple seasons, Amanda has begged her husband to look at bigger homes, but the Loverboy founder hasn’t wanted to leave the Big Apple. Amanda being cast on the Real Housewives of New York would add the much-needed marital issue placement that the series would need. As fans know, Amanda and Kyle have had their ups and downs. They would be the Ramona Singer and Mario Singer of the generation. Except I hope these two don’t end in a divorce.
Danielle Olivera is the epitome of a boss b*tch
For some reason, Danielle Olivera really riles up Summer House followers. Many were happy to see her leave the series. But I argue that Danielle is reality TV gold. She is one smart cookie and an independent woman to boot. Danielle always has her hands in a project. She is the founder and CEO of the fashion app Donne. And she previously worked in the financial technology (FinTech) industry as a product manager. However, I think what would make her such a good addition to my Real Housewives of New York dream cast is her dating life. She could be the new Sonja Morgan, just the tiniest bit more reserved. Her on-again-off-again friendship with Lindsay could also add to the drama equation.
Paige DeSorbo and Ciara Miller are both single
Like it or not, being single in the city is a way of life for most New York women. And who better to represent this percentage than Ciara Miller and Paige DeSorbo? The two influencers would be going out on speed dates and commiserating with one another on their adventures. Dating in the city has always been a massive draw for fans. Paige has just found herself single after a three-year relationship with Craig Conover, so it would be interesting to see how she bounces back.
My dream cast is, sadly, right now, just a dream. But if the Bravo gods are listening, my idea has traction. Let me know what you guys think!
Summer House is available to stream on Peacock.
