It’s not just you — even Danielle Reyes thinks that her performance so far on Season 3 of The Traitors has been difficult to watch. The questionable gameplay is one thing, but her over-the-top crying takes her performance to a whole different level. At this point, there’s only one word to describe it: cringe.
Bad gameplay makes good TV on The Traitors
In the latest episode of The Traitors, Danielle went head to head with Carolyn Wiger at the roundtable after getting caught red-handed trying to sabotage her gameplay. Before that, she was balling her eyes out over every banishment and murder, desperately trying to make herself seem emotionally invested in these people she just met. It’s been quite the spectacle and in a conversation with People, Danielle admitted that she’s laughing about it today.
“That’s all performance and crazy acting,” she told the outlet.
“I am a non-emotional person in my normal life to the point people think I’m heartless and cold. I’ve been told that,’ she continued. “So I decided to cry. I thought I’d be more emotional. I would get emotional at stupid stuff. It’s so cringey. I laugh at myself because it is funny.”
In Danielle’s mind, her acting skills have been helpful to her gameplay. According to her, the other reality stars were fully buying what she was selling. With that in mind, she teased that there was still more mess to come. That also means we’re going to have to brace ourselves for more cringing.
“If you listen to people who’ve been murdered and banished, they’re all surprised that I’m a Traitor,” Danielle claimed. “I mean, it’d be so boring if I wasn’t doing what I was doing. You don’t want Traitors hugging and singing Kumbaya. You want to see the chaos, and that’s what we’re giving you guys.”
The Traitors airs new episodes on Peacock every Thursday at 9/8c.
